"You're not gonna end the year playing video games, are you?" I joked, curled up in my boyfriend's lap as he played a game.
He smiled down at me, pausing the game just to kiss my forehead, before turning back to the TV. "I'll quit after this one," he said.
"Oh, babe, I was just kidding," I said, but he shook his head.
"No, I'm alright," he promised, shutting off the game after he saved it. "Besides, I'd much rather spend time with you."
I rolled my eyes, glancing at the clock. 11:53 pm.
"Seven minutes," I told him, and he spared a look at the clock as well.
"What should we spend these last seven minutes doing?" he pondered, and I smiled.
"I have an idea," I offered, and he looked down at me.
I used that chance to grab his face and plant a kiss on his lips.
"I like this idea," he mumbled, before putting his hands on my waist and kissing me back. I laughed when he picked me up to sit me properly in his lap. His legs were stretched in front of him, and I had a knee on either side of his hips, steadying myself as he placed a deep kiss on my neck.
"Oh, Michael," I whined, feeling him start to bite. "It's gonna bruise."
He sighed against my skin, kissing the spot. "I'll let you off this time," he said, smiling jokingly at me.
His mouth trailed over my neck and shoulder, and I could only try to cover my face so he wouldn't see how red I was getting.
Finally, he came back to my own lips, and I smiled into the kiss.
"How did I ever get so lucky?" I said aloud after we pulled back for air. "Damn, I love you, so much."
A little red dusted his cheeks, but he pressed his forehead to mine lovingly. "I love you, too."
I buried my face in his chest, trying to hide my face, which I knew had gone totally red at his words. He laughed, hugging me close and putting his chin on top of my head.
We stayed like that for a little bit. I adjusted once or twice, only to get a little more comfortable, and Michael seemed totally fine with being my big cuddle buddy.
"Michael, we have two minutes!" I noticed after looking at the clock. "It's almost the new year!"
"Do I get to ne you new year's kiss?" he asked, and I rolled my eyes.
"You're the only other person here, so I guess." I pretended to be sad.
"Lucky I didn't invite anybody else," he added, and I laughed a little.
"Oh, one minute!" I enthused, meeting his eyes.
"One thing left to do," he said, before he attatched his lips to mine once again. I sighed inwardly as his hands gripped my waist, my own getting into his hair.
I squeaked when he moved to lay me on my back, hovering over me with his lips still on mine. His elbows were on either side of my head, steadying him and holding his weight so he could kiss me. My hands roamed under his clothes, in that red hoodie he always wore. My cold fingers moved over his stomach and chest, feeling as much skin as they could find.
Michael broke the kiss for all of one second, just long enough for each of us to get a little bit more air, before he dove back down. He moved all of his weight to one arm, while his other hand trailed over to my own. He pulled my hand away from him, then used his other hand to do the same. After that, he used one hand to hold both of my wrists, leaving me unable to move my arms.
His free hand rested on my hip, before it started to trail under my shirt, like I had done to him. I shivered as his cold digits started feeling my skin, and a small moan left me and was smothered by his lips.
At last, we both needed air too much to keep going. Michael was the one to pull back, breathing deeply and rolling off of me, only to pull me into a tight embrace. Chest heaving, I wrapped my arms around his neck and laid with him, both of us struggling for air.
"Happy new year," I whispered, seeing the clock read 12:02 am. "I'm glad I was your first kiss of this year."
He held my waist, leaning down so his face was right next to mine. "Happy new year. I love you."
"I love you, too."
