There's No Place to Hide

For a second I thought it was just a dream and I was fast asleep But that feeling didn’t last very long as my ‘Mother’ Crashed into the door and broke a bolt in the door frame. There are now only two more holding the door in place now; I need to think of something fast. I quickly looked around the room but all I see is a double bed, two side tables, a TV across from the bed on the wall and a small bathroom connected to the room, but unfortunately the windows in the room are too small to climb out of. I thought I was as good as dead, while my demon Mother crashes into the door with only one more bolt left. I notice above the bed was a weird looking tile which looks like an entrance to the attic. I jumped onto the bed and pulled back the tile which did led to the attic, and as fast as I could I jumped and caught onto a beam in the attic and started pulling myself up. There was a huge crash and I lost my footing, but quickly regained it. But just as i was pulling my foot in, my mother grabbed onto me and started pulling me towards her with extreme force, she was so strong I couldn’t pull away so I grabbed a piece of wood sitting up in the attic and with one good swing I hit her hand and she released her grip. I didn’t have much time to get away so I pulled the cover back over the hole and started to crawl, hoping to get away from this room and hallway. Suddenly the beam I was on started creaking and moving downwards. The weight of the beams and the added weight of me made the roof cave in and me fall through the ceiling into the small bathroom connected to my hotel room. I looked into the other room and could see my Mom partly in the hole I climbed through, and next to her on the bed was my Dads lifeless body.

Before she could see me I closed the bathroom door quietly, and locked it. It seemed peaceful and quiet, a little too quite. Feeling uneasy I searched the bathroom and found nothing, until I opened one of the cupboards under the sink, and there just laying there wrapped in a blanket, what looked like a human baby.  I wondered why there would be a baby in a cupboard in a massive hotel.  I slowly reached my hands down to carefully pick up the infant, as I was lifting the baby out I turned it on its back.  This was no ordinary human baby; I don't even think it’s even from this dimension. It looks more like a demon. The baby had glowing red eyes and a big scar running down the middle of its face, its hands were wrapped in a pair of socks, but it looked like the socks have been shredded open from the inside.  I thought it was a good idea to not take the socks off because it seems as if the baby might have claws. The baby was still breathing so I started trying to wake it up. As I was doing so I could hear my mother yelling "YOUR FATHER WANTS TO TALK TO YOU, SWEETIE DON'T RUN AWAY FROM MEEE!" I felt a cold shiver run down my spine; I’ve got to get out of here.  I quickly but carefully wrapped up the baby and put it in my dressing gown and pulled open the small old window above the sink.  I could hear my mum she must have been crawling through the attic by now. So I don't have much time to get away, and having his baby will slow me down. I climbed onto the sink and looked through the window still holding the baby. I looked down and we were very high up maybe about 40 meters off the ground. There’s no way I could survive the fall so I decided to try walk across the small ledge running along the side of the building. I slowly reached my foot out but could barely reach it, the baby was sound asleep now and I didn’t want to disturb it. If the baby woke and started making a noise my mother might find out where I am and drag me back through the window.

I could hear a loud thump hit the ground inside the bathroom; I turned around to see that my Mother had thrown my Fathers lifeless body down, she must be very close. I started to worry I was still only half way out of the window. I really thought I would be seen, but because of this my foot was too far off the edge of the ledge and I slipped. Luckily though, I still had a hand on to window frame. By now I should be out of sight of the bathroom unless my mother came up to the window she would see my hand.

I was still hanging over the ledge and was slowly slipping, losing my grip. I looked down at the little infant in my dressing gown; I could see that it wasn’t in such a deep sleep anymore. I knew if one more loud sound or quick movement would wake it and she would surely find me.

I was still in danger and could fall at any moment. I tried not to think about it and tried to move and swing my foot back up to the ledge, I tried once but my foot missed because I didn’t have enough momentum. This time I would have to make it because my hand can’t take the weight much longer. I moved my foot back and forth with my whole body swaying on the side of the building. I kept telling myself that I’ll make it and will be fine. I swayed back and forth until I thought I had enough momentum to make it, I knew this was my last chance and if I didn’t make it I don’t know what would happen.
