Yamashita Ryosei's POV

It was almost dinnertime and Yuka hasn’t even called yet about what had happened. Then, the worry came collapsing on me and then, I decided to call Yuka now, hoping I won’t have to break a bad news for Masahiro. After I have dialled her number, I was greeted with the very long ringing which made more pressure to the atmosphere as I awaited Masahiro.

“Hello, Ryo-chan.” Yuka answered.

“What happened to you? Are you okay? Do I need to tell something to …” I asked her.

“Calm down, Ryo-chan. I … dropped my phone and it got shattered a bit.”

“Then, how do you explain your repetitive screams of terror?”

“That… went along with my damage phone.”

“How come you’re still talking to me, right now?”

“Well… my… phone… is… still… broken. That might be it.”

“That explains your jittery speech pattern.”

“Yeah…That’s it.”

“Anyways, do you need anything else with Masahiro?”

“Uh… First, say hi for me. Second, hug him for me because I didn’t say goodbye, this morning. Lastly, tell him that he needs to control himself when he meets the Founders. At the very least, he shouldn’t pee himself.” Yuka said as she giggled.

“Okay. Okay.”

“Make sure the hug gets to him.”

Suddenly, Masahiro enters the room, more jolly than he usually is, especially that he’s hoping around the entire room as he sang in his highest note without sounding horrible and changed his clothes into a tuxedo.

“I need to go.” I said.

“Okay. Bye, Ryo-chan. Take care of yourself and onii-chan.”

“Bye.”

“Who was that?” Masahiro asked as he stripped his lower garments.

“Yuka. And would you stop stripping down to your utmost glory?”

“What? I’m just changing clothes and you should to. I really want to be the first to get to the dinner table and have the closest seat near the Founders.”

“Number one, you’re disgusting. Number two, I’m just going to wear this sweater. Nothing else.”

“Come on. It’s a black tie event, technically speaking. An event of the highest formality.”

I just groaned from his undying positivity as he threw my lime green tuxedo towards me which he kept in the case that I don’t want to change. He’s too predictable but I’m just going to change before he’s the one who’s going to change my clothing.

After that weird clothing change session, we went to the dinner room with a long table covered with a white cloth on top and the glittering silver chandelier as huge as Masahiro’s peak of excitement and fanboying. While, there were guards in every corner of the room, all identical from each other and not moving. Immediately, Masahiro finds his seat with his name on it which was beside Praeuro, his all-time hero. Unfortunately, I was going to be beside him for the night and I have a feeling, I’m going to be beaten up with those muscular arms as he squeals with insane levels of fandom. Then, minutes passed, all of the guests arrive and one of them was oddly familiar to me, but, only in terms of aura. It was, then, Endou decides to talk to me, forgetting that he was still in me.

“Ryosei. That’s Kazemaru, in there.” Endou screamed into me as I saw him as a reflection on the silver goblet.

“Wait. What?”

I took my phone as I thought of this very thing happening to Endou. At least, it would eliminate suspicion of insanity for talking to myself.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“That blue-green haired-guy, that’s Kazemaru.”

“How sure, are you? You told me that he left, last night.”

“I’m sure of it, those eyes can’t lie to me. It’s Kazemaru’s.”

“Hey! Masahiro, do you know the blue-green hair, over there?” I asked.

“I think that’s the applicant who got 2nd place. I’m pretty sure, he’s name is Miyamoto Haruhito.” Masahiro answered. Then, I turned back to Endou.

“Are you satisfied? Let me out and I can go talk to him.”

“Are you crazy? I’m not letting out a ball of light out of my body. I don’t want to be killed by the Founders, even if I want to kill myself.”

“Then, you go talk to him.”

“No.”

Suddenly, my vision darkens, various sounds and I felt my body walked, even, if I didn’t told it so. Out of the dark place, a small light grows out and I see my body, now with brown eyes, walking towards Miyamoto. I should have figured, Endou forced himself into controlling my body. Well, I can only listen and eavesdrop with what their saying.

“Congratulations!” My body… I mean… Endou… Uh… I’ll just call it, ‘Endou!Me’ said to Miyamoto and put my… I think… hands in front of him.

“Endou?” Kazemaru!Miyamoto asked in a whispering manner. Well, Endou is right.

“Yes. What are you doing? Why’d you left?”

“My thoughts were a little bit out of place during that time. Now, I’m stuck in this boy’s body because he refuses to take control of it since he grew tired of everyone’s pressure on him.”

“We have the box. We’ll take you later. Just meet us, at the lobby.”

“I’m really sorry about all of this.”

“It’s okay. At least, we found you, so, we can solve this, together.”

The conversation ends, at that, as I felt my body jog back to my seat as the Founders were already arriving. Then, out of nowhere, I went back in control of my body and I just stared angrily at Endou who just smiled right at me. Masahiro, didn’t pay much attention with me and stood up as he greeted the Founders with a wonderful evening. Then, the dinner starts with Temoro’s welcoming speech.

“I greet all of you, a fine evening. Tonight, we feast on your wonderful victory of being part of this year’s Top 5 applicants for the Utopia’s army and as the Top 5, we, the Founders, are expecting a lot from you especially that you’ll be spread throughout the regions as Probationary Generals for your assigned troop. But, that doesn’t come without a cause, tonight, we shall conduct a test of loyalty, invented by Vesania.” Temoro said as Vesania stands up and smiles in a lunatic manner. “I continue, this test will prove your loyalty to us, the citizens and the entire Utopia as more and more attacks have come to take down, our perfect society.”

“Ha! Perfect. I can’t believe, he believes that.” I said to myself as I received an elbow push from Masahiro from bad-mouthing his idols. While, I noticed that I felt Endou wanted to get out of my body, Gouenji shaking the box and even, Kazemaru getting unstable with his controlled eyes, getting all over the place. Making me believe that they’re trying to take back their bodies.

“For now, I give the signal to enjoy the feast with my fellow Founders. A fun night to all of you, future protectors of the Utopia.” He said and immediately, sits down as he grins more than Masahiro’s ecstatic smile.

After everyone ate their dinner, Temoro stands up and commands everyone to proceed to the testing facility to which, I have a bad feeling about what’s going to happen. When everyone arrived at the facility, Vesania takes center stage.

“I’m here to instruct all of you, what’s going to happen. Here are two metal helmets connected to this very huge and potentially deadly tank that will suck up the brains of these future probationary Generals.” he said as everyone gasps while he laughs at their faces.

“Get off, Vesania! I’ll do the explanation.” Scleritas said as he directed a sword towards Vesania’s neck.

“What? I’m just doing a bit fun.” Vesania just chuckles again. “Just don’t do the explanation, maybe, we can do a volunteer?”

Everyone watches each other as they think about volunteering. Then, I just see Masahiro stand up and volunteering himself.

“We have a winner.” Vesania shouts as he hits the metal tank as he imitate bell sounds.

“Now, choose a Founder to evaluate you.” Scleritas said as he still pointed the sword at Vesania.

“Are you sure about this?” I said as I yanked his shirt.

“I can handle this.” Masahiro whispered to me which was not reassuring for me. “Vesania-sama, can I pick all of you. I want to prove my loyalty to everyone.”

“We do have a great champion, here.” Vesania smiles as he enjoys the future victim of his contraption.

“Your name and rank?” Scleritas retorted.

“Nashio Masahiro, the Top 1 applicant for this year, at your utmost loyal service.”

“We have a brave one, here. Can’t you say, Praeuro? I mean, you did know him since he was three.” Stiriacus told.

“Okay, everyone. I’m going to give, Nashio-san, his request. Let him be an example that the Loyalty Test will not kill you. Now, Praeuro will be the first to test him since we all know that he knows him, even, to a personal level.” Temoro told. “Good luck, Nashio-san, I’ll be taking you, last.”

Praeuro comes close to the machine and puts one of the metal helmets. Masahiro, then, proceeds to take the other helmet. Everyone watches as Vesania smiles before pulling down the lever, in order to activate the machine. While, I just sat there, took my phone and look at Endou.

“Get Gouenji out. We need to know, what happens inside.”

I just signalled him with a “no” as I still had second thoughts due to my worries for Masahiro.
