SUMMARY: BEATRICE RYANS HAD had a very mysterious past. No one knew much about her, except for the fact that Tris had arrived in Derry, Maine two years ago, and hardly ever left her house, a big two story on top of a huge hill far away from Derry's main street. But of course, the citizens of Derry loved to gossip about the strange little girl and her guardian, the forbidding lady who wore her blonde hair piled high on her head like a crown.
Tris was only seen out and about in those times when she went to the pharmacy, deep purple bags under her gray eyes, a scar on her cheekbone, and darting straight for the medicine aisle, then to the checkout, her arms laden down with bottles of energy medicines.
And one day, during one of Tris's trips to the pharmacy, Beverly Marsh, Derry's famous freak and slut, does happen to be roaming the general store at the same time. Beverly runs into Tris in her hurry to leave, though, and knocks Tris's multitude of medicine onto the floor. Full of apologetic, embarrassed smiles, Bev returns Tris's purchases to her, but the girl can hardly manage more than a mumble in return.
Beverly is entirely mystified. Still, she's never been one to give up easily, so Beverly Marsh makes it her mission to find out Beatrice Ryans's deal, before the end of the summer.
NOTES:
━ OKAY SO somniphobia means the fear of sleep, and tris has this bc when she was at her dad's house, prior to moving into derry with her aunt, her dad would hit her & her mom (who died), and ever since, when tris closes her eyes to go to sleep, she sees her father, and the same thing happens with all her dreams. therefore, she barely sleeps at night and constantly has bags under her eyes (to add to the scars she got from her father) and is always going to the pharmacy to get energy medicine so she can stay awake.
━ bev sees tris in the pharmacy when she goes to buy pads, and after she knocks tris's stuff down, she's super polite and helps her pick it all up. this is mainly bc bev is a nice person, but also bc she's curious abt tris and also thinks she's pretty
━ when bev makes the "vow" to find out about tris, she then goes into the aisle where she sees the three boys buying medical supplies, and she mentions tris to them in a vague way, like "hey, did you see ghost girl over there?" but none of them know what she's talking abt
━ when bev's tracking tris down, she could go to her house and knock on her door, and when tris's aunt answers she could tell her she's tris's friend, and tris's aunt could say, "beatrice doesn't have any friends. good day," and close it in bev's face, so she goes around to tris's window, which is open, and climbs in & scares tris, and then they have a real conversation
━ tris should be really slow to warm up to bev, given that she's a really guarded person w/ a past full of lots of emotional trauma (duh), but when bev finds out what happened to tris, she should empathize, and kind of let on that she's experiencing the same! tris should then start to warm up to her a lot more, and that could be the time when the connection between them really emerges. tris should start acting slightly protective over bev during that point
━ once tris meets the losers (which happens however you want) she should be much closer to bev than to all of the rest of them, and not really very interactive with them at first! richie should make jokes abt her being a ghost, and then make one about her bruises, at which bev lashes out and yells at him maybe
━ out of all the losers besides for bev, tris should be closest to stan and mike
━ bev becomes super overprotective of tris, and in turn, tris becomes protective of bev, but not as much as she is of tris
━ tris being a small kid, henry bowers could push her around, and she gets a flashback to her father & maybe blacks out/has a panic attack! if you do this, make it a big scene and have bev and the rest of them stand up for tris, and have them all bond over this
━ pennywise should appear to tris as her father
━ sarah paulson as tris's aunt maybe?
