Jack's POV
"Oh, so you finally decided to come back, eh?" Mom greeted Elsa and I at the door.
"Sorry, my father kept us long at the diner," Elsa apologized.
"Elsa, you don't have to apologize, that's none of her business," I assured, then shot an icy glare at my mom. She gave me a mean scowl. Then we parted ways to our rooms to go to bed. I was sleeping when I heard the door creak open. I sat up to see Elsa in my doorway.
"Elsa? Are you okay?" I asked groggily, reaching over and turning my lamp on.
"No, I can't sleep," she replied. I scooted over and gestured to the empty space on my bed. She climbed in, but on too of the covers.
"Quit thinking so much. This will be great for you. No more chores!" I said cheerily. Elsa sadly nodded.
"But no more you." she answered quietly.
"Elsa, I'll always be with you. We can still be best friends!" I assured.
"But I want to be more than friends," Elsa murmured, but I heard it clearly.
"Elsa, look me in the eye and day that again," I ordered. She looked up at me and this time, confidently said:
"I want to be more than friends." I smiled at that.
"Then how about I take you on a date tomorrow night," I asked.
"I would like that. But what about movie night?" Elsa asked. I slammed my palm on my forehead.
"Ugh I totally forgot. What about Saturday then?"
"That would be even better." She smiled. I kissed her forehead and then we both fell asleep, our breaths in the same rhythm.
