"Sit there" the guard said referring to a cold metal chair as i slowly pulled it out from under the table it made a screechimg sound that took me back to when IT started, the screeching of a chair on the concrete floor of my garage as we were playing hide and seek i should have known, his eyes, a hunger of lust. i could feel his arms on me stop. I am able to bring myself back to reality as the door opens on the opposite side of the room.
"Ty, Ty, Ty, you are the last one i expected to see here." Keons says a slight tone of worry in his voice.
"I don't know wha-"
"Where did you get it?" Keons asks, cutting me off.
The flower all of this for a flower.
" It was in his coat pocket, when i buried him this morning it fell out i didn't think much of it"
"mmhmm......"
"Tyler do you trust us? you know we've been here ever since well........ we've kept you safe"neons asked as he seemed to scan my expressions he knew everything about me and it was true they have kept me safe but I don't understand why over a flower?
"I do" I answered knowing I would never get an answer to all the questions forming in my head.
"this is the only place where you will be safe it's bad out there you know that very well I should say the rest are only good to hurt there was no other way out you couldn't speak about it it would've torn your family apart even more now we took you in and we have kept you safe ever since" it was true, but I couldn't help but wonder if there was something else some things where killing me from the inside out I needed to let go I needed to talk but it wasn't safe.
" I know you wouldn't try to leave right? after all that's happened out there you shouldn't trust them................. look up at me Tyler," keons said his tone a little harsher. snapping me out of my trance I hadn't realized I was staring at the ground.
"you are safe here"
"I know I'm sorry"I answered not really knowing for what.
"I'll let you go back now, you know who you are Tyler, you know where you will end, under neon like everyone else It's safe here"keons said his voice a bit kinder his stare penetrating,
"take him back down" he said to the guard standing by the door. "remember me, Tyler".
