Chapter 5

  "Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen we are going to be landing in Florence Italy in 10 minutes, make sure you collect all your belonging before you get off the plane. Now please fasten your seat belts and I hope you enjoyed your flight with Delta airlines". 

I felt butterflies in my stomach as I realized we really made it to Italy. 

"Oh my god I'm so excited!" I heard Kelsey squeal, I looked over to see her shaking Joyce's arm in excitement. 

"Hey here's your phone" I took my phone from Matt and put it in my pocket. I looked out the window and could see the ground getting closer. I shut the window so I wouldn't have to see us land, a few seconds later the plane touched the ground and my body shook from the impact. All the students on the plane cheered as the plane came to a holt in front of the terminal. We really made it to Italy, I can't believe this! We gathered our stuff off the plane and made our way off of it. Once inside everyone gathered around the teachers waiting for instructions. "Ok guys we made it to Italy! I know you are all excited but we need you to listen to instructions very carefully so none of you will go missing. First we're going to head down to baggage claim and get everyone's luggages. Once everyone has all their belonging we will head out to the buses and be taken to the hotel. When we get to the hotel you will be given your room keys. You will be assigned a room unless you picked who you wanted to be roomed with last week. We will all rest for a little while since we've been on such a long flight but tonight we will all go out to have our first dinner in Italy. Alright let's head down to baggage claim" Everybody followed the teachers to baggage claim and searched for our belongings. I found my bright green and black suitcase and Kelsey's glittery purple one first. I grabbed Kelsey's suitcase and tried to pull it off the conveyor belt but it was too damn heavy. 

"Kels what the hell is in your suitcase? Bricks?" 

"No silly...I just packed a bunch of shoes" she walked over to me and helped me pull it off the conveyor belt. 

"Why do you need so many shoes? We're only going to be here for two weeks" Joyce raised an eyebrow at Kelsey as she stood by the conveyor belt waiting for her suitcase. 

"Oh Joyce you can never have too many shoes" Kelsey giggled and Joyce just shook her head. After 10 minutes everybody had their belongings except Matt. 

"Where the fuck is my blue duffle bag?" Matt folded his arms as he angrily stared at the conveyor belt. 

"Do you think they lost it?" Liam asked as he stood next to Matt. 

"Hey Matt is this it? There's a blue duffle bag over here" Kelsey said from the other side of the conveyor belt. Matt walked around to the other side where Kelsey was and sighed "Yea it is thanks for checking the other side Kelsey". He grabbed his bag and put the strap over his shoulder. But his expression changed, he looked like he was thinking. The class started walking to the bus, when we started boarding it I turned to Matt and he still held the same expression. 

"What's up with you?" 

"Nothing it's just my duffle bag feels heavier than I remember" 

"Well maybe it feels that way because you haven't held it since you checked it in at the airport in Philly" Joyce shrugged as she got on the bus. 

"Yea I guess she's right". Maybe he just packed a lot of shit like Kelsey did, he just doesn't remember. We boarded the bus and it drove off to the hotel. On the way there we admired the scenery passing by. The canals, the churches, the people who were sitting in their windows waving at us. It was beautiful here. We pulled up to a building that said The St. Regis Florence above the doors. My eyes widened, it looked super expensive. I looked up the name on my phone quickly before we got off, this place is a five star hotel. "Guy's they are letting us stay for free at a 5 star hotel". I showed my friends the website to the hotel and they looked at it in shock.
