A young cat sheltered between the trees, the world a blur as the blizzard raged on. She was alone, set off on her journey to prove herself as a warrior. The wind blew harder, making her pelt fluff out from the cold. She gritted her teeth, knowing she had to get back to her camp so she picked up the hare she caught by the foot and began the long, slow journey back.
The wind bit at her ankles, threatening her, chasing her out of their territory.  Among the wind, she heard a yowl. She stopped, dropping the hare, grey ears pricked. She shook her head, thinking that she had imagined the sound when she heard it again. She abandoned the hare, knowing she could get back to it, if a fox didn't find it first. She sprinted towards the yowling, soon picking up the scent of milk and disease.
She poked her nose through the frozen bushes, seeing a thin, white pelted shecat, head hung. The apprentice screwed her nose up at the disgusting smell of greencough as the cat lifted her head up to yowl once more. The sorrowful sound echoed through the forest as she ran forward, feeling the need to help the cat. As she got closer, she noticed two kittens, dead by her feet. The queen turned her head to her, tears in her amber eyes. "Please," She mewed, lifting her paws to reveal one last kit. "Please take Stone with you, I can't let him die like his littermates," the sick queen nudged the mewling kit towards the apprentice. She stared at the kit, hesitant to take him, worrying about the mother. "Don't worry about me, I'll watch him when I'm in the sky. Go!" The apprentice glanced at the queen sorrowfully before taking the kit, running with him hanging from her jaws. He mewled louder as she ran through the blizzard, down a path she knew well, one she wasn't supposed to follow yet.

A/N: Hello! Thank you for reading my new story, Stone. I am currently having a bit of difficulty with creating the allegiances so I'm going to set up a form here for those who'd like their cat in the story.

Just warning you, most cats in the clan are longhairs with big paws, due to living in a much more colder climate. I will be following you and tagging you in the story if you choose to help. Thank you!
