A young kit stood in a forest. No sound, not even a tweet of a bird sounded through the trees. The kit warily stepped forward, his curiosity getting the better of him. He nosed his way through the ferns, an ice cold blizzard hitting his face. The wind howled in his ears and the forest faded away to white. He saw the outline of a cat. Her short fur was still, no wind seeming to reach her. She blinked her amber eyes, gazing at the kit lovingly. "You've come so far," the cat purred. The kit was confused. He had never seen this cat before in his life. Is she a Skyclan Warrior? Like the ones his mother talks about? The shecat took a deep breath, her eyes searching the kits. "Stone builds clans better than thorns," she purred, beginning to fade away, the blizzard winds picking up again.
"No! Wait!" The kit yowled. "What does that mean? Who are you?" He ran towards The quickly fading cat, hungry for answers when something hit him in the side, pushing him into the wind, his small body carried away by the blizzard. The last he saw were her loving amber gaze before he woke up, warm in his nest, with a pair of sleepy blue eyes and grumpy amber ones. He yawned and stretched.
"Good morning!" He mewed, gaining a roll of amber eyes from his sister, Rollingkit.
"You must of slept well, Stonekit," she stated, flicking her fluffy tail. His brother, Runningkit yawned sleepily.
"You were running in your sleep," he stated. "You weren't waking up when we poked you so Rollingkit kind of headbutted your side," Stonekit grimaced, the pain in his side coming back. He quickly groomed the ruffled, white fur before glancing around the den, noticing that only them three were the only ones there.
"Where's Bluecreek and Blizzardkit?" He questioned, standing up from the nest, scraps of moss falling from his pelt. Rollingpaw rolled her eyes again. "They're already outside, waiting for Eaglepaw to return," Stonekit stared at her in disbelief.
"She's back already?" He yowled, loud enough for the entire forest to hear. "Why didn't you wake me up sooner?" He bolted out of the nursery, into the cold camp. LongSnow was just beginning to end, giving way for WarmLight. Stonekit padded through the slush and sat down next to Blizzardkit, his youngest sister. The entire clan was sitting in the clearing, waiting for the apprentice to return. Nobody, not even Aspensky, was aloud to eat until she was home. Rollingkit and Runningkit soon padded out of the nursery, their grey pelts looking identical.
"Hey Stonekit," Rollingkit smirked, sitting down on his other side. "I bet she won't make it back. Last time, she didn't even last one night before running back home with her tail between her legs,"
"Rollingkit!" Bluecreek, their mother sounded horrified. "Do not ever say that about another clanmate!" Rollingkit's ears flattened.
"Sorry,"
"She's back!" Blizzardkit squeaked, blue eyes bright as the ferns by the entrance rustled, snow flying everywhere. A large, speckled, silver apprentice dragged a hare through the slush, gaining surprised gasps and nods of approval from the camp. Her mentor, Swiftspirit, ran over, purring, happy that his apprentice had finally made it, after five more moons of waiting. Eaglepaw had returned.
