I let out a long sigh and started rubbing my left thumb with my right. I was getting my year results back and I was nervous. I really couldn't afford to fail, I had no idea what I'd do of I did and the suspense was killing me. I mean I didn't do that badly in exams did I? I didn't think that I did particularly bad in most except for one Afrikaans and one math. So I was probably fine. But what if I did fail? How would I handle my parent's disappointment or anger? Would they disown me? Would they beat me for being such a let down?

Non of these would probably actually happen but that didn't stop my mind from racing, going over all of the possible outcomes. I moved my right arm to start rubbing just below my left shoulder.

I froze as the sound of someone shuffling upstairs caught my attention, slowly the sound died down and I released the breath that I didn't even realize I was holding. I breathed out a nervous laugh, damn I was on edge. "This is stupid." I said as I stood to try and calm my nerves by concentrating on doing something active.

~~~~~~~~
I was in the middle of just sailing around in sea of thieves when I heard a shout.
"Cameron!" there was a short pause before another shout, this time a little bit louder "Cameron!"
I felt my shoulders tense up as I started drumming on my desk with the pads of my fingers and swallowed the lump in my throat. "Yea?" I shouted back.
"You passed!"
That was all I needed, and all I  wanted to hear, she could have continued talking but I didn't hear much else. I felt my shoulders fully relax and my chest shrink back down as I heaved a great sigh. I could feel all the energy leaving my body, I yawned, even though it was the middle of the day my bed was looking more comfortable by the second. I decided to curl up on top of the covers and began playing some music that I could fall asleep to before setting it aside. I wasn't as comfortable as I thought I would be though, I felt exposed somehow, vulnerable.
~~~~~~~~

I never fell asleep, I just felt even more tired than before, after tossing and turning, trying to get comfortable for what seemed like hours I slowly sat up. I felt defeated as I groggily upend my eyes and looked around, it was getting a little dark outside, my room lights were too bright and my door was closed.

I thought over what I should do, not just for before I went to bed but the next day as well. I decided that I was going to go see if my mom needed help with dinner and that I was going to go up the mountin when the weather was right. I picked up my phone and checked the never before used whether app. It said that tomorrow was going to have heavy showers and the day after was just going to be overcast. I decided to go when it was overcast because it probably would have been too dangerous to go when it was raining.

~~~~~~~~
I woke up extremely tired, I had hardly slept but I still managed to get up and look outside. It was bright outside which seemed, wrong for some reason but I was too tired to figure out why. I shrugged off the feeling that I was forgetting something and went to go have breakfast.
Just as I sat down to eat my breakfast I realized what was off about waking up. It was ment to be raining, instead there where almost no clouds in the sky and it was hot. Now I love warmth like sitting around a fire or drinking a nice mug of hot chocolate but I hate hot days with the sun glaring down on your neck, making you uncomfortable and sweaty, it's just unpleasant and I much preferred it when it's overcast or raining. The fact that it was sunny made me a little nervous that it a was going to be the same when I went up the mountain.
At least my food was nice though, it was roasted banana with eggs, toast, bacon and roasted toma-
Suddenly there was a hand where my food was a second ago. I looked up wide eyed as my whole breakfast (plate and all) somersaulted above me in slow motion and landed on the owner of the hand.
It was Tayla who had thankfully managed to catch all of the food with her face, except for the plate that narrowly missed her shoulder and shattered on the floor. "Shit" I paused before I continued. "Are you ok?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine, but I did just take a shower."She said angrily before she glanced at the floor.
It was a mess there was food and shattered pieces of plate everywhere. I could tell that she wasn't in the mood to clean it all up. "Don't worry about that." I assured her "You go have a shower, I'll clean this up."
"Really?" she asked raising a brow.
"What? You think I can't?"
"Well, you haven't been the, most." She paused "Helpful in the past."
"Oh, ok I guess I'll leave it to you then." I said jokingly putting my hands up in defeat.
She quickly made her way down stairs. "Actually the only way for you to improve is with practice, good luck!" She called from the bathroom, followed by the sound of a door slamming.
"Well now it's just you and me." I said to the mess. "Hey! Don't you look at me like that, we both know you can't stay.. No, I'm not listening to what you have to say.. I'm talking to garbage? Well, look at who just played themselves."
When I eventually finished cleaning up I looked around, the house was quiet, after all of the commotion I was glad that it was. Loud noises had always stressed me out, after just standing there for a moment I noticed just how tired my legs were. Knowing that I probably wouldn't be able to lie down I decided to go sit down and play some games.
