In Ms. Flo's office, Mrs. Shanye stands in front of Flo's desk fiddling with her fingers as she explains what she thinks she saw. "So, Angelle Lockheart is a creature? What in your right mind makes you think such?" Ms. Flo mocks Mrs. Shanye as she flips through Angelle Lockhearts records for school. Mrs. Shanye answers, "The advance math and everything."
"Shanye, she is smart. Smarter than most of these older kids. There is no way she is a creature." She shows Shanye the records of Angelle's school years. Even though, it's very lengthy it explains the years of her schooling and volunteer work for extra credit.
"I saw the way she raised her hand, she raised it before I could get the full question out." She blurts out with fear. But, her thoughts aren't really sure about what she saw, she sticks with it. In a panic, Flo stands up, "how?"
"I-it was a blur...vampire like. I think we should do the cleansing thing again." Shanye says with her voice breaking.
"We may have to do that, but if she is not a creature the machine could possibly kill her and we don't need anymore kids dying all because you thought they were some kind of creatures, when they turned out to be just kids. Your sensors about this are fading and I don't like that at all. So, you either need to go to Dr. Tsin in the morning or start using a stronger medicine for it. Do I make myself clear?"
"Crystal," Shanye answers. Flo nods, "Great. I will talk to Dr. Tsin about it. Until then you keep your mouth shut about this. Understood?"
She nods and walks out hoping that she was doing the right thing about reporting Angelle Lockheart to Flo.
Flo looks out the window in the back of her office and sees the kids playing and a short flash of her sister and herself playing in their front yard before her sister was taken by a beast with blue horns and a red tail. That day still haunts Flo; that she couldn't do anything about it. Feeling out of breath, she plops down into her office chair and lulls her head on the back of the chair, sighing.
3 years have passed since Angelle and Gianna's parents have transferred them to the states because of the outbreak of the war against Imaris on Euphoria. Neither Angelle nor Gianna have heard anything from or about their parents. Or even Donatello for that matter. For Angelle, she put her feelings of abandonment into her school work and being friends with a few of the students before they got adopted into other families. Gianna continues to have hope that their parents would come back for them and often cries during the night.
Larsen laughs as Angelle, whom is now 16 and has graduated from high school tells Larsen who is 16 as well another story about her and Tashlynn and how they got caught talking in class. "I was never one to talk back to a teacher, but Tashlynn..." Angelle shakes her head as Larsen has a smile on her face. "she dared me to do so that day. So, I found a chance to correct the teacher."
Larsen gasps always loving the stories Angelle tells her, "Did you get into trouble?"
"I got sent to the principal's office for it and for correcting her literature format with sentence structures. I didn't get in trouble, but Tashlynn got in school suspension."
"What did your parents do or say?"
Angelle has grown into some of her powers though they are not very strong, even though she tries to exercise them when she and Gianna are in their rooms. Sometimes during lockdowns when Flo is PMS-ing about small things. "They asked me what happened. I told them the truth, but I didn't rat out Tashlynn." Angelle could feel Larsen's tension but didn't know what was wrong or why she all of a sudden felt so uptight.
