They go up the stairs except Donatello whose room is in the lowest part of the house, not the basement but above the basement due to him and staying up late playing music. Angelle shakes her head as she packs what she believes are the most important things. She knew that she should have told her mother instead of her father. At least she knew her mother would have put an end to it and found out if Angelle's dreams were just dreams or reality. Angelle looks outside and sees the black clouds roll smoothly across the early morning dark sky; just like in her dream. The clouds darken the entire island. Too weak to continue packing, Angelle sits down on her bed.
Starting to think about why her mom would put them in an orphanage unless her mother really thought or knew that they wouldn't come back alive from the war. Angelle's thoughts were interrupted by her father and mother entering her room. Angelle doesn't move for she is a little annoyed by what is all happening. "Are you okay?" Her mother asks, sitting down by Angelle.
"No, I am not. I am leaving everyone I know and everything I love all because of a sea creature (Creature is an insult and very demeaning.). I told dad to tell you about the dreams I have been having, but I don't think he did."
Viscin rubs his nape as his wife stares intensely at him. Angelle knew that look and she knew that her father hadn't told her mother a single thing about the nightmares; just like Angelle thought. Her mother then turns to Angelle, "I know that it is a lot to take in with so little time. But, we didn't want or don't want you kids being here for this. I also do not want you guys to be enslaved if they do win. Scrubbing a floor or serving anyone...no."
Tears that Angelle's tried to hold back ends up sliding down her cheeks, her mother cradles her in her arms. "I know it's really bad. But, it's what's best for you all." Her mother says.
Her father sits on the opposite side of Angelle and pulls something from his pocket. The gleam of the necklace as the room light hits it catches her eyes. "What's that?" Her father explains, "This is a power locket medallion. Since you have not come into your vampire powers as fast as your sister or brother, this will protect you and store what powers of the vampire you do have and will come into."
Angelle looks at the medallion confused as to what her father just told her. Seeing the confusion, he rewords the explanation, "If someone tries to harm you in any way, shape or form this," He holds up the necklace with golden vampire fangs as a locket, "will protect you. Now, I am not sure how but I know it will." He leans in and clasps the necklace around her neck. The Persian gold vampire fang medallion began to glow a silver hue and a soft hum echoes from the medallion as it began to store whatever powers she didn't know she had. (If she didn't have any powers at all, the hue would have been a deep brown. A deep red, if she had all her vampire powers. And a silver if she only has a few. However, her parents don't really know what the colors mean.) Angelle flinches at the sudden pain of the medallion and could feel the silver hue slithering through her veins causing her to glow abruptly then the glow dies down.
(The medallion once belonged to Arianna Lovelace; the vampire female that started the clan. She bought the medallion from a Witch Doctor; declaring that she was tired of the vamp life and wanted to become human again. Since there was no possible way to really change her back to being a human, she took the alternative instead; The Medallion. It allowed her to use her powers with limitations and has for her vampire ways, the medallion limited her blood hunger and her need to sleep during the day. However, all that broke when she turned her first lover into a vampire and swore that he wouldn't walk alone. She broke the medallion's power and kept it in a safe place. Since then it's been passed down and kept sacred for centuries.)
"We do love you, Angelle. We want you to know that or forget that." Her father says. They get up to leave, but Angelle stops them by getting up from her bed. "Wait." They stop and turn to Angelle. Angelle then asks, "Why an orphanage?"
Her mother shrugs her shoulders, "Just figured it would be easy for you and Gianna to get use to." With that, they leave and go into Gianna's room; which is downstairs. Angelle could hear her sister blubbering dramatically and loudly. Angelle shakes her head and purses her lips together at her sister's dramatic-ness. Closing her door, she goes back to packing up her room. A knock at her window causes her to jump. Going over to the window she nearly trips over a black and brown teddy bear with a red bow on his neck, she picks it up and remembers when —-another knock interrupts her thoughts. She sets the bear on the bed and goes to the window and opens it, Nikolai climbs through the window in a haste.
"Angelle." As he hugs her, she can see throughout the window that panic was starting to settle into the Island. Mysticals were running around and some of them were taking off. She hugs him back burying her face deep into his shirt, not wanting to see the horrible truth, that she tried to fix. Nikolai could sense her worry. She lets go and says, "Someone has destroyed our lives and I can't stay here anymore, because of the war. I tried to warn father about it." She lays her head back on his broad chest. "I know." He strokes her hair, "I don't like that you have to go, not at all."
All the times that she has hugged Nikolai, she has never really heard or felt how fast and hard his heart would beat. Until now. "I leave either today or tonight, depending on the way's entry." She tells him. She could feel him nod and vows, "I will kill the sea creature that has done this to us and I believe I know who it is as well."
Angelle steps back and sighs, shaking her head. "That won't solve anything because of the Imaris. They are still going to come and invade the Island."
Nikolai came to realize that taking them out would be a totally different matter. Especially for him because he has never killed an Imari before. he didn't know what to say, "I will tell Tashlynn you said bye." Angelle nods and Nikolai climbs out of the window.
