Pokémon: The Spirits Within

Chapter 1: The Deep Eyes

(Fennekin's spaceship re-enters the atmosphere and flies into the wasteland of Lumiose City. The ship then lands right next to Prism Tower and the cargo bay opens up with a geared up Fennekin looking at the destruction the Specters have caused. She flips her tracking lens on and scans the area. Thankfully, there are no Specters. She activates the wrist-mounted scanner on her left arm.)

Fennekin: Where are you?

(Fennekin looks at her scanner which says "no life forms." She steps out of the ship and walks past a rusted and broken car with a human skeleton slumped in the seat, its skull resting against the steering wheel. She unhooks her flare gun, fires a shot into the air and watches its bright white and yellow particles settle back on the ground. No Specters. She turns to her left and enters Rouge Plaza.

She then turns right and the scanner suddenly starts bleeping faintly. She fires the flare gun again for a precaution and starts walking in the direction the scanner had pinpointed. The residual particles land on three Specters. Fennekin then gasps in shock when the scanner picks up four more Specters equaling seven. She turns around and sees that the Specters are blocking the distance between herself and her ship.

An eighth Specter appears right below her. She then breaks into a run. After 15 seconds she stops to catch her breath. She turns around and sees that the eight Specters are gone. She takes another look at her scanner and sees that the life form she is looking for is inside Prism Tower. She tries to get to Autumnal Avenue through an alley but is quickly cut off by a Specter. She backs away and then hits a wall.

Suddenly, a military passenger jet flies above her and out of the jet jump four heavily armored Pokémon soldiers. Each soldier deploys a green mist that hits the ground to catch their fall. Once they land their captain launches an electric-type attack that hits the Specter. The sergeant then launches a fire-type attack to make the Specter stays down. The Specter tries to get back up but the captain and the sergeant both launch their same attacks killing it. The soldiers then turn to Fennekin. The captain is the first to speak, his face covered completely in the metal-gray armor, his voice sounding amplified and metallic.)

Captain: This is a restricted area! Do not move!

Sergeant: What's she doing here, Captain?

Captain: I don't know. But we're getting her out. You're coming with us!

(A Specter comes out of the wall on their left)

Fennekin: Behind you!

(The captain and the sergeant turn fire at the Specter as Fennekin sprints into the alley leading to Autumnal Avenue)

Captain: Hold it right there! Nuts. Let's move, people!

(As Fennekin runs through the alley the Deep Eyes Squadron follows her close behind. The sergeant then sees two Specters coming through a wall.)

Sergeant: Two coming through the eighth wall!

(The sergeant launches two Flamethrower moves at the Specters)

Third Soldier: Hold your fire! Those tanks are flammable!!

(The sergeant doesn't listen as his Flamethrower blows up a crate of explosive propane tanks. He slams backward into the third soldier and they both get back up on their feet.)

Captain: Tepig, Oshawott, let's go!

(The Deep Eyes continue pursuing Fennekin. The latter moves silently into the building when a gloved paw clamps firmly on hers.)

Captain: Just what in the world do you think you're doing?

Fennekin: There is a life form in here!
