I find myself watching the time again, trying to find a way out of this situation, and it's all because of Yuta. I've had no problem with the others, they are all very sweet, but I just can't enjoy myself when Yuta is sitting two seats down, eyeballing me with such disgust. I feel gross, and dirty even being near him, his stench wafting it's way closer and closer to me. I want to get up and leave, but Kun is enjoying himself, and so is Taeyong. I sigh and look to Johnny, who seems to be restless like me.
"Hey Johnny, do you want to come with me to get another milkshake?" I ask him, praying he'll say yes.
"Yeah, sure." He smiles and nods at me. Yuta, Johnny, and Taeyong all stand up so I can get out from the inner corner of the table Taeyong and Yuta sit back down, but Johnny stays standing and follows me over to the counter.
"What do you want?" I ask him, offering to pay for whatever he pleases.
"I don't think I could eat anything else." He sighs, rubbing his stomach.
"Think you could handle half a milkshake?" I ask.
"They do that here?" He raises his eyebrows, shocked.
"No silly, we'll share one," I say, hoping this doesn't weird him out.
"You sure? I don't want to hog your shake."
"Positive." I smile at him.
"Half a milkshake it is then." He smiles back, and I can feel my heart pumping. I could get used to this.
"What can I get for you?" The cashier asks, snapping me out of my daydream.
"One vanilla shake and two bendy straws," I say, handing her a five dollar bill.
"Is that everything?" She asks.
"Yes," I say, and wait for her to hand me my change.
"Thanks, I owe you half a milkshake for next time," Johnny says, nudging my shoulder.
"Can't wait." I nudge his shoulder back, and he blushes. I can't tell if he's just being friendly, or if he likes me back, either way, I'm enjoying this.
"Here's your milkshake." The cashier comes back and hands me a large vanilla milkshake and two rainbow bendy straws.
"Thank you." I take it from her.
"Hey, would you mind if we sat somewhere else, just you and I?" Johnny asks, catching me off guard.
"Sure, but why?" I say.
"I just can't stand Yuta, and his cologne is giving me a headache." He rolls his eyes, and I feel such relief.
"You too, huh," I say, rolling my eyes with him.
"What do you mean?" He asks as he sits down in a different booth, and I sit across from him.
"I can't stand him either," I say as I put our straws in the milkshake.
"Really? Have you met him before?" He raises his eyebrows.
"He goes to my school. Just a few hours ago he pushed me and called me a fag." I explain.
"What a dick. I still don't understand what Mercy is doing with him."
"Neither do I. I was sort of hoping you would be able to enlighten me."
"Honestly, he's great with her, but when she's not around he really shows his true colors."
"So how do we tell her what he's really like?" I ask, hoping Johnny will have some sort of plan.
"I really don't know." He frowns.
"Kun and Taeyong hate him too, maybe they can help," I suggest.
"Kay's not so keen either." He adds.
"So basically Mercy is the only one who likes him?"
"Pretty much, yeah."
I stop for a second and take all of this into consideration.
"I have an idea." I finally say.
"What is it?"
"You and kay come meet us here tomorrow, and we'll figure it all out," I say, leaning in and taking a sip of the milkshake. Johnny nods and leans in closer, and I start to panic. Is this it? Are we kissing already. He gets just before my lips, and dodges them, taking his straw in his mouth and sucking hard.
*ding* saved by the bell, my phone goes off in my pocket.
Ty Track; Where did u and John go?
Me; I'll explain later. Tell Kun we're leaving.
Ty Track; K.
I put my phone away and look back up at Johnny.
"Who was that?" he asks, his eyebrows raised in suspicion.
"Taeyong. Apparently, he has a massive migraine." I frown, lying.
"Oh, that sucks. You guys should head out then." He frowns back.
"Yeah, you're right." I push the milkshake towards him so he can finish it.
"What time should we meet?" He asks.
"How about Lunchtime?"
"I'll see you then." He smiles, and I smile back. We both stand up, and he gives me a hug. I stiffen up, not expecting the kind gesture, but I melt into it a few seconds in.
"It was nice talking to you Doyoung." He pats my shoulder.
"You too." I nod and look to Taeyong and Kun who are saying goodbye to their new friends. They finish and start walking over to Johnny and I.
"It was nice to meet you guys, and I hope you feel better Taeyong," Johnny says, and I start to sweat.
"Oh, yeah, thank you." Taeyong plays along, thankfully.
"See you guys tomorrow." Johnny waves before joining his other friends in the booth.
"Feel better? See you tomorrow?" Taeyong whispers to me confused as we walk out of the door.
"Yes, I needed an excuse to get out of there," I say.
"Why? What happened?" Kun raises his eyebrows.
"And why did you and Johnny leave?"
"I was trying to get away from Yuta, and take advantage of the hot boy sitting at our table. But it just so happens he also wanted to get away because he hates Yuta too." I explain.
"Really? What did he say?" Kun says in disbelief.
"Basically that he thinks Yuta is a piece of shit, so he and Kay are going to meet us at Lifelines tomorrow after school so we can figure out how to get rid of him."
"Damn, Kay hates him too?" Taeyong asks and I nod.
"So Mercy is the only one who likes him?" Kun asks and I nod again.
"That sucks, I feel so bad for her." Kun frowns.
The rest of the way back to my apartment we conspired about just how we were going to get Yuta out of the picture. We came up with some outrageous ideas, but none of them were smart or well planned out.
"On another note, what else did you and Johnny talk about?" Taeyong changes the subject.
"I could have sworn I saw you with one milkshake and two straws," Kun adds.
"That, my friends, is a secret." I wink at them before unlocking the lobby door with my key card leaving them outside.
