...

"Attention everyone! May I have everyone's attention please?" Riana said standing up and clinking her fork against her champagne bottle.

Once grabbing the attention of everyone in the room, she continued.

"Great. We're all here for one apparent reason and that's to celebrate the coming together of my dearest and best friend, Lexis Cameron and her Prince Charming, Ar'mon."

Pff, Prince Charming my ass.

"And with that, I'd like to make a toast. I've know Lexi since we were little girls."  Riana spoke glancing at Lexis with the fakest smile she could muster up plastered on her face.

Not that little.

"Ever since the day we met in 8th grade I fell in love with her." She continued on.

So is that why you tried to first Lexis at everything she did and tried to sabotage every great opportunity she got?

Why was it that I was the only who sees right through this plastic, Botox little demon? She never cared about Lex.

The witch continued her speech about how great her love for Lexis was and how happy she is that she was marrying her 'prince'.

I glanced over at Ar'mon who seemed bored out of his mind and uninterested about what's going on.

"Who's next?" Mom asked then turned to me. "Kai?"

"Nah, mama. I'm good." Lexis glanced at me.

"Come on, Kai. Please?" She pleaded and made a face that she knew I couldn't refuse.

I sighed in defeat and stood up with my glass in hand.

"Hello, everyone. When my mom and Kurt told me I was having a baby sister, I felt the instant urge to protect you at all cost." I said.

"You were born 2 days early, June 28 to be exact. You just couldn't wait to be born to annoy me and everybody else, could you?"

I earned a few laughs.

"Nevertheless, your birth was the greatest gift I could ever asked for on my birthday." Tears began to form in Lexis's eyes.

"Lex, I love you to death and there's absolutely nothing I wouldn't do just to see you smile. So if marrying Ar'mon makes you happy then I'm happy. Love you little sis. Cheers."

"Cheers!"

The party went smoothly for the rest of the night. There was a lot of drinking and dancing, well mostly drinking.

"Mom? Where's Kurt? I thought he'd be here." We were both sitting down on the living room sofa, sipping away our glass of champagne.

"He's still on his business trip. He called though and congratulated Lex on her engagement."

Kurt is a second father to me, however, my liking towards him didn't happen overnight. I hated my mom for being with another man after my father passed. It seemed as if she had forgotten about dad and moved on.

"Hey mom, Kai? Have you guys seen Ar'mon?" Lex said making her way towards us.

"No hunny, did you check upstairs?" Mom asked.

"Yes, we're about to cut the cake and I can't even find Riana."

"Did you check the basement?" I asked peering up at her.

"No, I did not. Thanks" she turned on her heels and left.

"She really loves him, doesn't she?"

Mom smiled, "Yeah, she does. I'm really glad that you decided to come tonight and support-"

Mom was interrupted by a loud scream.

"Are you fucking kidding me!"

Mom and I exchanged looks.

"Is that Lex?" Sage asked making her way towards us. Lexis's loud outburst caught the attention of everyone in the room.

The three of us along with some others made our way to the basement to see what was happening. All I heard on my way there was Lexis's screaming and a loud crash as if someone had smashed a glass on the floor.

Once we were all there we saw Lexis grabbing everything she could reach and throwing them at Ar'mon and another female who were both half naked.

I grabbed my sister before she could reach for anything else.

"I can't believe you. Ar'mon you make me sick!" Lexis yelled and her voice cracked.

"Babe-" He began as he struggled to pull his pants up.

"And you! I've always known you were a slut, Riana but I didn't think you'd go this far. You've had it out for me since we were kids, you're a jealous bitch. No, a jealous, sad bitch."

So she knew, but chose to be her friend anyways.

"You can both have each other! I'm done." Lexis shakes out of my grip then turns to leave, tears streaming down her face.

I turned to Sage, "Make sure she gets home."

Sage nodded and left.
