Michelle POV:
"Mommy, mommy! I'm ready for you to see my outfit now!" Serenity yells from her room.
"This girl better not be wearing nothing crazy." I said to myself.
I was on the phone earlier with Matt but he was just saying weird stuff about a nightmare he had. I just got off the phone with Jo and she was telling me all about her night at the club, typical her. I finished packing Serenity her lunch and I began walking upstairs to her room. All I kept hearing was "Zendaya – Replay" blasting from her room.
"Dang Serenity, the whole neighborhood can hear you blasting this. Turn it down."
"Sowwy mommy, I really love Zendaya! She's having a show here do you think I can go?" Serenity plead.
"Girl, we'll talk about that later. First, I need to approve of your school outfit. Now turn around and do a whole 360." I said to Serenity.
Serenity had on her olive-green private school shirt that read "Atlanta International elementary school" logo on the right corner, a black and white polka dot belt, and tan cargo shorts with pink crocs. I looked at her like she was crazy. I took a deep breath in and out.
"Serenity what in the world do you have on? We don't have time for this. You're about to miss the bus and now I have to be late for work and take you." I said irritated as ever.
"I thought you would like it mommy." Serenity said in an innocent tone.
I walked over to Serenity and got down on one knee.
"Sweetie, I would allow you to wear this if you were not going to a private school, but your school has strict rules that do not allow you to wear certain things like this."
"Okay mommy... well can you at least take a picture of me and send it to daddy!"
"Yes sweetheart."
I pulled out my iPhone X and went to my camera. Serenity held up the peace sign and struck a pose. "This girl has so much personality" I said to myself. I went to my messages and clicked on Matt's name.

I laughed at Matt's reaction and locked my phone. I went into Serenity's closet trying to find something quick to put together. I grabbed her olive-green school logo blazer with a khaki skirt and her black Prada shoes. I grabbed her zebra print Jansport book bag and stuffed her homework and class books inside.
"Okay mama, grab your lunch from off the counter in the kitchen and meet me at the front door." I said to Serenity.
She left her room to go to the kitchen while I stayed behind making sure she didn't leave anything behind. As I was double checking, I saw something hanging out from under her pillow. I walked over to her pillow and grabbed a folded piece of paper. The paper read 'To: Adrian, From: Serenity' "Who the fuck is Adrian?" I thought to myself.
"I like u do u like meh? Circle yes or no."
I chuckled at the note and put it back under her pillow. I need to find out who this little Adrian boy is.
We finally arrived at Serenity's elementary school and it's always packed at the drop off section.
"Mommy, can you walk me to the front of the school." Serenity cried out.
"Girl you are seven years old! You have been walking yourself to the front since school started."
"I just want to show my classmates how beautiful my mommy is."
She is too adorable. I indeed birthed a perfect daughter. I decided to go walk her to the front mainly because I wanted to see if I could get any clue of who this Adrian boy is. As I was walking to the doors of the school holding my daughter's hand, Serenity bolted away running to this brown skin little boy with waves wearing the school uniform with the fur Gucci shoes. "Hmm, so this must be the Adrian boy from the note." I said to myself. I walked towards Serenity to let her know we do not chase after little boys. Right after I gave my speech to her, there was this guy that kept staring at me like he wanted to say something.
"Umm, do I know you or something?" I said trying to break the awkward silence.
"Sorry, I couldn't help myself. You just look amazing in that Fendi blazer." The guy said.
I blushed. I didn't know how to feel or react. I rarely get compliments like that, if it isn't from my mom, Matt, or Joanna then I will never hear it.
"Oh, um... Thank you..." I said nervously.
"What's your name?" he asked.
"Michelle, and yours?"
"Just call me P."
"P? What does the P stand for?" I said confused.
"Haha, if I tell you I'll have to kill you."
"Oh really?" I said laughing.
"Nah, I'm just joking. But what is your occupation?" he said.
"I work for Forbes magazine, and yourself?"
"Well... I guess you can say I'm a business woman of some sort. I have mini business in a couple of states but my main business is in New York. I just visit Atlanta for family."
"Oh shit." I thought to myself. I'm speaking to a woman.
"Oh... I'm sorry I thought you were a—"
"Man?" she cut me off and laughed.
"Yes, haha. Sorry about that."
I'm not going to lie. She looked good. She had on a black snap back with all-black shirt and pants and her hair was in braids.
"Don't worry I get that a lot. But can I take you out one day?" she asked.
"Ummm.... I'm married."
"Oh... well, just take down my number. We can just hang out as friends if you want."
She began writing her number down and signed her name with the letter P and a heart. She winked at me and gave the little boy Adrian a kiss on the head. A million of emotions were running through my head. Am I wrong to hang out with her as friends? I just quickly walked back to my car and drove off to work.
