ten years later
Cho was walking to school for her first day there. Her mother decided to transfer her since she found a new and better apartment to live in and decided it would be better for cho to study somewhere nearer instead.
Cho's heart started beating faster with each slow step she took as she sees the university from afar.
will the people there accept me?
what if people dislike me?
what if i'll have no friends?
She gets too caught in her own thoughts, she doesn't realise it started raining.
Soft raindrops lands on her skin and a sudden sound of thunder makes cho snap out of her thoughts.
Cho quickly remove an arm to rummage through her bag in search of her umbrella and she curses mentally when she suddenly remenbered leaving it at home, positive that it wouldn't rain early morning but bad luck was on her today and it did.
She decided her only choice was to walk faster towards the school since she didn't want to get her books and papers wet in her bag and running would most probably make her trip and fall.
It's better safe than sorry.
By the time she was halfway there, she was already soaked. Her ponytail dripping wet right on her bag and her clothes were becoming see-through.
She accidentally steps into a puddle of muddy water, making her shoes wet and muddy.
❝ugh, can my day get any worse than this❞ cho lets out a frustrated sigh.
All of a sudden, cho doesn't feel rain pouring on her anymore. She looks up to see a white umbrella hovering over her head, completely covering her. She looks to her side and she swears she saw the most beautiful human being. The boy beside her has light brown locks that looks smooth and soft, his eyes were of a shape of a deer and it sparkled whenever he blinked. But there's one more thing, why is he so familar?
❝are you okay, miss?❞ the male spoke, his deep and soothing voice almost making cho melt.
❝miss?❞ he waved his hands frantically infront of cho's face and she blinks confusely, realising they were standing in the middle of the pathway, causing the brown headed male to chuckle softly, allowing a sweet smile to rest on his face after.
that smile is so familar.
why do i feel like i've seen it before?
❝please stop staring at my lips❞ the male's cheeks flushed red and he looked away.
❝o-oh i'm sorry❞ cho awkwardly smiles and looks down to play with her fingers.
❝here❞ the male spoke after awhile, removing his jacket and with a bit of struggle, managed to make cho wear it.
❝you didn't have to❞ this time, it was cho who was blushing.
❝your uniform is soaked, of course i have to❞ he grins, moving the zipper of the jacket up to cover her entire upper body.
Cho's face got even more red if it was even possible.
❝t-thank you❞ she stutters.
❝we're wearing the same uniform so i assume we are studying at the same university, are you new?❞ he tilts his head slightly and waits for a reply.
❝y-yes❞
❝well i'm jaemin, na jaemin. What about you?❞ he reaches his hand for a handshake.
❝cho❞ cho mutters while shaking his hand and the said boy's grip was tight and deadly but wasn't enough to cause pain, cho winced quietly.
❝well, let's go or we'll be late❞ jaemin chuckles, still holding her hand and dragging her along with him.
If that was an excuse to hold my hand, it was definitely smart.
-
Jaemin managed to get them both in school before the bell rang and when they walked in, stares were already on cho but she relaxed as soon as jaemin squeezes her hand slightly, causing whispers to arrupt and dirty glares to come her way.
Then, she realised. Jaemin is a popular boy in school.
I mean who wouldn't like a boy with a good-looking face and has a smile that could heal and kill.
-
Apparently, cho ended up in the same class as jaemin and was also his deskmate at the moment. Is it fate?
Cho gave a simple introduction of herself earlier and was currently staring at the whiteboard, taking down notes as the teacher writes more.
❝cho...❞ a hand softly grabbed cho's hand which was writing, causing her to stop and look at the boy beside her.
❝...d-do you not remenber me?❞ cho furrows her eyebrows and stares confusely at the male whose eyes were full of hope with a hint of disappointment.
After a few minutes of wrecking her brain, she finally spoke.
❝i-i don't know❞ cho found it hard to speak from the intense eyecontact the both of them was having.
❝really? You don't remenber me? Nana? the boy in the hospital?" jaemin's eyes turned into complete hopelessness as the words leave his mouth.
nana...
cho widens her eyes.
❝nana?❞ her eyes lighten up, feeling memories rush to her in an instant but she was still unsure.
The said boy's eyes glistens and the sides of his mouth curled up.
Suddenly, the background noise was muted and the two were just staring at each other, both not planning to break it anytime soon.
that smile
still so beautiful
but one thing is different, it is full of life
it is you.
❝you survived❞ a smile slowly made it to cho's lips.
finally, i got to see you again
i missed you
nana
