Chapter 1

Elsa's POV: I thought that Jack was laying right next to me in bed, but when I reached over, I didn't feel his warm, comforting body there to hold me back. A wave of panic rushed over me and my eyes opened immediately. No Jack. I jolted up and sprinted through the opened doorway and down the hall. I raced down the stairs, two at a time. Jack came rushing out of the kitchen. "Elsa?! What's wrong?! " I was struggling for air. "Honey, calm down. Calm down. It's ok." I leaned into him and when I finally grasped a firm hold of my words, I said: "Jack. I thought Pitch took you." He looked into my eyes with guilt and relief. "I'm sorry I startled you. I came to get a drink. I was so thirsty-but I didn't want to wake you. Finally I couldn't handle it so I got up and quietly made my way down. You actually startled me, too, Els. I thought you were hurt or something bad had happened to you." Jack replied. " Sorry, Frost." I say back. We both smile. Then Jack takes my shaky-but slowly calming-hand, and we both head back up to our bedroom. We both climb back into bed and he puts his arm around me and pulls me close. Before ten minutes is up, we are sound asleep.
