A lot can happen in a lifetime. Well, not for me. My life has basically been a routine ever since I was born. Wake up, go to school, talk to my best friend and try not to die in class out of boredom, go home to my messed up mom and that's it.

But now, something has happened.

I anxiously waited for the bus as I focused on the snowflakes falling from the sky. I've never been a winter kind of person, but who doesn't like to watch snow trickle down onto the ground?

Lost in my train of thoughts I hadn't even noticed the bus until some dumb kid who probably goes to my school bumped into me. I got in and instantly let out a sigh of relief as I felt warm air calm my trembling body. Then I saw him.

Sitting in his usual spot all the way in the back of the bus with headphones in and a book in his hands.
The day after my sixteenth birthday he just sat there and the moment I first saw him, something came loose in of me. A rush deep inside me, making my heart go wild and my head go crazy.

I've observed him ever since my birthday two weeks ago and I just find myself staring at him at least five times in the short 10-minute drive to school even though I've never seen him at my school.

"Are you gonna get in the bus any time soon or are you gonna make us wait in the cold forever?" I jumped at his harsh tone being ripped out of my thoughts. Crap, have I really been staring at him and just stopped moving? What is happening to me?

I quickly took a seat on the bus, hiding my blush of embarrassment in my furry coat. Of course, I was facing him, I just can't help myself.

Those mesmerizing green eyes, glistering in the rough lights of the bus. His sharp and defined eyebrows, frowning upon his probably interesting book, making a serious look appear on his face. His rosy plump lips, curving upward into a cheeky smirk as he stared back at me. OH MY GOD, HE'S STARING AT ME!

I quickly looked away as I started blushing heavily. This never happened before, we've never had any kind of interaction. This is the first time he's even acknowledged my existence.

I put on my headphones and just closed my eyes sighing heavily.

The bus arrived at school quicker than I'd hoped, but that's nothing new. I stood up and looked at him one more time, he didn't look back. He was frowning and a concerned look rested on his face. Weird. I sighed and stepped out of the bus. At our usual spot at the main entrance, I spotted my best friend Haylee. She's been my best and only friend since preschool. She knows everything about me and I know everything about her, she feels more like family than my actual family.

"Hey babe, what's wrong? You look like shit." She hugged me and giggled.

"Gee thanks, good morning to you too."

"I'm just kidding. But really, what's wrong?" She grabbed my hand and we walked into school together. I sighed as I thought of a way to tell her what's been on my mind lately.

"Okay so I don't really know how to describe it, but there's this boy..." I immediately got interrupted by Haylee gasping and playfully nudging my shoulder.

"Violet and a BOY?! Call CNN people because this is news!"

"Haylee, shut up! You're causing a scene." I looked around me to see several people giving us looks.

"Anyway, I don't know how to describe it, but I feel such a weird connection with this kid like I can't stop staring at him in the bus and he's on my mind all of the time." I sighed and looked at Haylee with a 'you better give me some good advice' look.

"Girl, you're the most virgin girl I know but this sounds serious, all I can say for now is please go talk to him. Do you have a picture by any chance?"

I blushed and giggled. "I do actually, it's blurry and you can't see much, but it's hard these days to take a picture of someone without them noticing."

"My sneaky girllll, let me see." I showed her a picture I took a couple of days ago. He was staring out the window, making his jawline look even better. His hair was pushed back into a black Vans beanie. He wore a denim jacket with a basic black shirt underneath it, his legs looked even longer in the black skinny jeans he wore with rips by his knees and his feet were covered by high top white Converses.

Haylee looked at me and then back at my phone and her jaw dropped. Her facial expression suddenly turned serious. "Violet, I'm dead serious right now. If you don't talk to him, I will. Because he's a HOTTIE omg Vi you did well! He's so damn cute please I beg you, go talk to him today."

We laughed so hard we got stares from everyone in the hallway again, but we got rudely interrupted by the bell. I sighed, this is basically the only time I see Haylee every day. We don't have any classes together, we don't even have lunch together and after school, she has cheer practice until late.

"Okay, I will. But please keep your phone near you okay? I need you."

"Of course Violet, I'll be there." We hugged and then parted ways on our way to class. This is gonna be a long day...
