On July 15th 1982, the body of a young girl was discovered in the rear of cedar ridge cemetery in Blairstown New Jersy.
The young girl is believed to be between the ages of 14-18. However, we may never know as the girls identity remains unknown, hence the name 'princess doe' she was given this name when she was discovered and no one could give her her name back.
She was found laying on her back, her face was so badly beaten and bashed in that it didn't even look like a human. This meant identifying her would be extremely difficult, because of this, her eye colour could also not be determined.
The pictures above are two forensic reconstructions of what is believed that she looked like, it is beloved that the picture on the right is the most accurate.
She was found wearing a red short sleeved shirt and a peasant style skirt, however her skirt was found lying on top of her legs and her underwear was never found. Despite this, it is believed that no sexual assault had take place due to the lack of evidence, but this was hard to determine due to the state of decomposition the body was in and the exposure of the body.
The girl had defence wounds all up her arms, indicating that there was a struggle. Some sources claim that alcohol was found in her system.
Some theory's range from that she was a teenage runaway to being forced into a sex trafficking ring that was didn't want to be a part of and was murdered.
Princess doe was buried on January 22nd 1983 after she had remained unidentified for 5 months. Funds and money was raised to give the girl a proper burial with a coffin and a headstone which read :
