"AAAAHHHHHH!" I screamed, trying to extinguish the flames bursting out from the left side of my body. Well...technically it wasn't my body. "(Y/N), just use the ice to stop it." a cool leveled voice said next to me. I tried to use the ice but ended up making giant icicles stick out from me. "Aaahhh! Sh-shoutoooo! What do I do?!" The..woman (man) next to me put a hand on her (his) chin and thought for a moment.
'Today has been such a crazy day, I hope he can figure out how to reverse this.'
Earlier
Shouto rushed passed me and chased after the villain. While it was what I like to call a 'low level' villain, the Pro Hero was determined to stop him from doing any petty thefts. I decided to trail behind him since I had nothing better to do and this villain interrupted our hang out time. If I had known following him meant what happened, I would've stayed at the café. He had the villain cornered in an alleyway with me at the entrance, watching from a distance. "This is it, villain." The villain smirked straight at me. "Not quite." Then, everything went dark. There was a period of time, probably a couple minutes, when I think I was asleep.
I opened my eyes and looked around. I was still at the alleyway but looked closer than before. The villain was nowhere to be seen. I sighed and turned around to walk out of the alley only to be met with...myself? I looked at my body in confusion as myself looked at me in confusion. "(Y/N)? Is that you?"
"Y-Yes?" I was a little shocked by my voice since I knew it. The mellifluous, cool, monotone voice that came from me was none other than Shouto Todoroki's. I looked down to see I was in his body. My mind started panicking and I wound up enabling his flames, which caused Shouto to also panick.
That's how we got here. To where we are both trying to control each other's quirks. At least mine isn't as troublesome as his. The worst that could happen is he gets a migraine from reading too many minds, while I could burn my apartment down right now! "Hey, (Y/N)?"
"Hm?"
"How do you use your quirk?"
"Well, it depends what you wanna do."
"I want to control minds."
"Okay, well you need physical contact with the participant and they need to be willing or it won't work well, especially on someone who is using the quirk for the first time. Contact closest to the mind is ideal but harder for someone who" I was interrupted by Shouto putting his (my) hands on my (his) head and completely focusing on his goal. His eyebrows were furrowed in concentration and his mouth drawn into a flat line. "Okay, now what?"
"Just...think about what you want to do to them." Shouto looked even more concentrated now. "Okay." I shot him a confused look to which he replied with, "I was trying to make you calm so you didn't activate my quirk all over the place. Did it work?" I was a little surprised, but my mouth turned from and 'O' to a 'U' as it curled into a smile. "Yeah, thanks." He gave me a small smile and blushed a little. "No problem."
I strolled over to the couch and sat down while sighing. "How long do think this'll last?" Shouto thought for a moment before answering. "I'm not sure. Maybe twenty-four hours, maybe forever. We can't be certain." When I heard his response, I felt a shiver go down my spine. "F-forever?" Shouto nodded. "Yes, it's possible. However not likely." I groaned. "What're we gonna do?!"
"First things first..." He (she) walked over to my phone and opened it then started scrolling through my contacts. "What're you doing?!"
"Which one is your boss?"
"Why?"
"Well, we need to explain the situation." I stared at him for a moment. 'Does he really think my boss will believe this?!'
"Umm...Just call Kenji and tell him I'm sick." Shouto nodded then found the contact named 'Kenji'. "Put it on speaker."
He dialed Kenji and put the call on speaker. "(N/N)-Chan! I miss yoooouuuu! Where are you?"
"O-oh, uhmm I'm sick, cough cough." I rolled my eyes and mouthed 'Very convincing'. I heard Kenji's hearty laugh through the phone. "Yeah, right. Are you skipping work to see Shouto again?" I blushed a little at his comment as Shouto gave me a questioning look. Without thinking I blurted out "N-no! It's nothing like that!"
"Wait, who's that? Gasp, is it Shouto! Hi, Shouto!" I mentally panicked and screamed inside at my stupidity. "Yes, Shouto is here with me. But-" Shouto was cut off before he could even explain the situation. "You really have to stop skipping work, (Y/N). This is the fourth time this month." Shouto gave me another questioning look and I tried to blow it off. I decided it would be easier to tell the truth. I sighed. "Okay, Kenji, I'm not actually sick. Truth is...we switched bodies," I stated and waited for his reaction. Kenji didn't respond and there was a moment or two of silence.
I heard a fit of laughter through the phone. "Yeah, right! I can't believe you got Shouto in to prank me, (Y/N)! Wow!"
"Fine! I'll prove it! You didn't stop sleeping with your teddy bear, Mr. Fuzzy, 'til you were fourteen! And, to this day, you still miss him and still love all bear things!" Kenji gasped and I could tell his jaw had dropped because... well that's how he is.
"It's true and you know it!" I yelled in a 'matter-of-fact' tone. Kenji sighed. "Okay, I believe you. I'll tell boss you're sick, but you better spill all the deets later. Bye bye, lovebirds~!" I immediately hung up with a tomato red face. "Hahaha, let's forget about that, shall we?" Shouto seemed to shrug it off and we ended up calling his agency next.
They completely understood and were happy to let him have the day off, considering I wouldn't be any help anyway since I have no idea how his quirk works. We spent the rest of the day hanging around in my apartment until someone I forgot about came home.
"(Y/N)! I'm home~!" Miki sung. When she saw Shouto (me), she gasped. "Oh my gawd! It's Shouto! Aka the guy you-" I instantly covered her mouth and she looked shocked since I was Shouto at the moment. "One more word, and you get it!"
"Damn, he's scary! What the heck, (Y/N)!"
"That's actually (Y/N)." Shouto pointed to himself (me). "We ended up switching bodies." At first, Miki didn't believe it until I whispered something only I would know in her ear and she immediately believed us. She started laughing and wouldn't stop until I punched her. "Ow! Shouto is a lot stronger than you so take it easy!"
"Sorry... not sorry, HA!" She started chasing me and throwing pillows at me. Shouto ended up making dinner for us and he spent the night since he wanted to avoid the trouble of women going to his house, especially me.
Turns out it was only twenty-four hours, and we were both happy to get back to normal. Shouto was walking out the door when he turned around. "Ah, I almost forgot." He leaned down to my level and whispered in my ear, "You better explain to me what our friend 'Kenji' was talking about." He smirked then turned on his heel and walked away, leaving a blushing (Y/N) in the doorway.
