Epilogue

Four years have come and gone since that day and life has definitly had its ups and downs during that time. For starters dad has been released from prision, this happened about a year and a half ago. When I was notified by the court that he was being released, after much debt and discussion with Tanner, mum and Markus, I took out a personal restraining order of protection against him along with mum and Markus and Tanner.

Mitchell went off to an Ivy Leauge University and is only a year away from finishing with his five year law degree. Yes, bad boy Mitchell Stevens is obtaining his law degree to fight for the rights of young adults who have been charged.

Sweet Shelbie finished high school as the second highest in her grade now is in her second year of college for her degree in social work and a minor in psychology. She wants to help Mitchell with some of his cases and those who perhaps are in bad homes.

Mum and Markus have adopted two children together; Sean and Dean - twin 8 year old brothers who were raised by a mother who was a hooker and a father who was in and out of their entire lives, selling drugs and their mother to whomever wanted her.

Taryn, my funny and yet adorable best friend, yes we are still best friends and I hope we will be forever; he is graduating from university along with Tanner and myself with his degree in Criminal Justice. He has had a girlfriend, Ronnie since our freshman year of college where he met her at the freshman mixer hosted by her sorority and they have been together ever since. Ronnie is gaining her degree as a probation officer.

My sexy Tanner is gaining his degree in arcitecture and has already recieved several job officers one from out of state and two that are within a forty minute drive of our families. When he asked me which offer he should take, I told him which ever one would make him happy. Tanner has decided on the one that is closer to our families and were are searching for a home or apartment to rent, seeing as he is starting his job two weeks after we graduate from University.

Now about myself and my University life - Tanner and I share an apartment with Mitchell and Taryn off campus and Mitchell has already found two other roommates to share the apartment and expensese with with Taryn, Tanner and myself move. I am obtaining my degree in child psychology since I want to help children cope with tramatic experences.

Tanner and I are also discussing adopting a few children ourselves in the next few years; going through the same lawyer and agengency when we decided that we are ready for this step in our relationship. Honestly I am hoping that before we decide to make this step in our lives, we are married first but it isn't a prereaquist for me in order to adopt our future together. I guess only time will tell.

Another two years have passed and I am happy to announce that Tanner and I are engaged, he asked me on Christmas day in front of both of our families and of course I said yes! Now that we have this figured out (we're marrying in a year), we are starting the process of adopting at least one child perhaps two; before we completly decide on one or two children this adoption, we are going to visit the orphanage where we can meet the children. Our appointment is in an hour from now and I wish we could do this right this moment because my pateintce is gone.

Half an hour later, I'm standing at the door with my shoes on my feet, my wallet and cell phones in my pockets and bouncing on my feet waiting for Tanner to place his shoes on his feet.

"Babe please hurry, I would like to go!" I quietly say as I fidget with the hem of my plain black shirt.

Tanner chuckles at me as he stands to his full height with a smile direct at me. Cupping my face with both of his big hands, staring me in the eyes, "Baby breathe, we're leaving now but I need you to calm down. I have hope that we will find our future daughter or son when we arrive."
