New Year! New School!

Character of the chapter: Vanessa!

CHAPTER 1
It is April, and the first day of schools everywhere is about to begin in Vunjox. The first day of a new school year, and for Vanessa the high school 1st-year student... It is the first day of a brand new school.

On her way to her new high school, Vanessa found herself in a forest at dusk with a few instructions given by her parents. Confused, she walked past the countless dark trees while carrying her favorite dark blue school bag. The sun continued to set and the orange sky began to turn dark blue as she was still unable to find her destination. Now feeling scared and wanting to go home, her vision cleared to a mysterious gate and a huge dark building. Confused again but a little confident that this building was the school that her parents had spoken about the night before, she decided to just step through the gates anyway.

Three conversing blue-eyed girls stood in front of an open doorway. A blonde long-haired bun-head wearing the school's white and pink-striped winter uniform, a girl with thick medium-length black hair who wore a grey outfit, and a white-haired girl with medium-length hair who wore the school's blue and white summer uniform all chatted away in front of the doors, not noticing the lost girl.
"Um, excuse me?" said Vanessa as she approached them.

The girls stopped talking and turned to look at her with disgusted looks on their faces.
"What?!" said the blondie in an annoyed and rude tone.
"What the bloody hell do you want?!" said the black-haired girl in a not much less of a vulgar tone.
"Don't be rude!" snapped Vanessa, who was stunned by their attitude. "I'm looking for a school here. Can you tell me what this place is?"
"We don't give that information to outsiders! Now scram!" replied the blondie.
"You girls look like students..." said Vanessa. "If this is a school, can you at least tell me where I can find the headteacher?"
"Ugh, fine," said the white-haired girl while rolling her eyes. "Just go through here and make a right..."

Happy, Vanessa thanked the girls and ran past them into the building. She was met by a corridor with gothic walls and windows framed by dark curtains. This sight made her certain that this place was indeed a school. When she hit a T-intersection in the corridor, she looked to the right and saw a row of dark doors with signs. She walked by them until she spotted a door with a sign that read: "Headmistress". Grateful that she had found the head teacher's office, but still rather shocked by the insolence and the suspicious "bloody hell" phrase she received by the girls at the entrance, she decided to forget what she heard and leave all her longing questions to the headteacher.

The door to the office was closed. Vanessa decided to stand by and wait. She watched rather strange-looking students enter the building through the doors she ran through and walk through the corridors while carrying blood-red schoolbags. After several minutes of waiting, she saw the office door open and out walked a pale blonde girl with teal eyes and glasses who carried a blood-red schoolbag. She seemed too timid in a creepy-looking place like this, Vanessa thought. When she lost sight of the girl, she decided to see the headteacher. Nervous, she walked into the office and took a seat at a dark wooden desk.
"Can I help you?" A woman with bright red velvet hair and grayish eyes sat in a large black chair behind the desk. A huge window was seen behind her with a dark curtain.
"Y-Yes, I-I'm here to attend this s-school..." stuttered Vanessa. "Y-You're the headteacher, r-right?"
"Indeed. I am Ellanore, the headmistress of this school. And you are?"
"M-My name is Vanessa. I'm fifteen and I live in Aynor... I guess this is the school that my mom and dad had told me about. They did say that I'll be going to a boarding school, but why did I have to come here at night?"
"Aren't you a vampire?"
"No..."
"What do you mean you are not a vampire?!" said Miss Ellanore, with her voice starting to sound suspicious. "This is a vampire school called Vampire Star Academy. An ordinary human would NOT be ANYWHERE near here. If you are not at least a fledgling vampire..." She stood up and slammed her hand on the desk. "...LEAVE this establishment!"
Intimidated, Vanessa snapped, "I'm allergic to garlic!..." Her nervous eyes looked up at Miss Ellanore's. "I-Is that enough?..."
Miss Ellanore thought for a moment and said, "Well..." She sat back down in her seat. "I apologize for my behavior. I shall speak to your parents to find out more about you. Anyway, welcome to Vampire Star Academy, Vanessa. I now declare you an official student of VSA. Your dorm room will be ready by tomorrow morning. For now, go to the book room to retrieve your textbooks. It is nearby the governmental studies classrooms."
