As I made my sandwich, my step father's girlfriend, Victoria, walks in. I question why she is in the kitchen, but continue making my sandwich. Victoria casually walks towards me.
"Lily, while you're making a sandwich make one for me as well," Victoria Says while glaring at me.
"Yes ma'am," I say as I get some more bread out to make another sandwich. I see the Witch smirk as I began making her sandwich. I simply look away and continue to make her sandwich, while thinking, That person is the devil. I look up from making the sandwiches to heave a deep sigh.Oh! I should make step-father a sandwich too. I take the remaining bread from the pantry to make a sandwich for my step-father.
I look at the ugly, evil woman sitting across from me and slowly began to shake my head. Just then my step-father, John, walks in the room.
"Hey, what are my two favorite women doing in here?" Step-father says with a big grin on his wide face. He walks closer to the counter where I was making the sandwiches on." Oh! Your making sandwiches, did you make me one, your favorite person in the world?"
I look at him with a plain expression and carry on with making the sandwiches, giving no reply. After a couple of seconds, I finish making all the sandwiches. "Done!"
"I'm going out to meet friends." I take my sandwich and walk towards the castle door with Victoria and step-father right behind, "I'll be home by dusk." I say. I walk out the door without a second glance. As soon as I was out of view from my step-father and Victoria's vision I run towards town. The outskirts of town is where I'm meeting my friend, Gray. We've been friends since we were in the womb. We're practically siblings, although Victoria tries to take me away from Gray, we still end up together. He knows me inside out and I know him inside out too.
"Took you long enough" Gray says as he sees me approach him. I smile sweetly just as he does to me. "What took you so long? Having trouble with Victoria?" He says Victoria's name with such venom to it.
"I had to make them sandwiches. It's fine I don't mind making sandwiches, it's nice and calming." I look off in a daze, while my eyes turn grey in calm manner, as I feel Gray's arm wrap around my shoulder and he pats my back.
"Soon enough you'll only make sandwiches for yourself and me!" Gray says with a look of hope spread across his face. "Let's get going, it won't be long before you have to go home."
I nodded and followed him towards our secret spot. We traveled for about five minutes. Finally arriving at our destination, we sat down on a large tree stump. We started talking about random things. Gray is someone who was lonely most of his childhood. He was in an accident when he was four. It killed his mother and put his father in a coma for two years. While his father was in a coma he was taken care of by his grandmother. But she died soon after his father died from the coma. He then went to an orphanage until he was 12. He was bullied by the people that ran the orphanage and by the fellow orphans. St one point he wanted to die, but one day I saw him on the street. I talked to him for a little while and suggested that he come stay with us. My stepfather said was fine until he got a real family. Eventually he did and everything worked out.
The sun was now setting behind the mountain that looked over the city from a distance. I get up from off the floor. I had been laughing on the floor. Gray had mentioned something about a seagull-dog. I told him I had to go. We said our goodbyes and hugged. I walked off in the direction my home was in.
When I walked through the door, Victoria had already begun to annoy me. Her and my step-father had been on the couch talking when I entered, "Can you get us some tea?" Victoria had asked, but it sounded more like a command. I rolled my eyes and went into the kitchen. I went into the cupboards to get the teapot. I quickly grabbed the tea-bag and set them aside. I filled the teapot with water and let it come to a boil. The loud screech the teapot made signaled me that the water was ready. I pulled the teapot from the stove top and pour two cups of water, placing the tea-bags in the cups.
I quickly took the cups of tea to Step-father and Victoria. I set the cups down and tried to leave unnoticeable, but to my dismay Victoria had a smug look on her face and asked me, " Are you not going to sit and drink tea with us?" I glanced at my step-father and he looked oddly excited.
"I'm tired, I shall go and rest." I say acting like I'm tired by forcing myself to yawn. I quickly walk up the large case of stairs. I walk through the long hallway into my master sized bedroom. I hopped onto my king sized bed and laid there flat for a couple of minutes before forcing myself to go take a shower. After a nice warm shower I put on my nicest silk pajamas and skydive onto my bed. I didn't realize that I had held my breath until now as I let out a long sigh. I pick up the book that was on my nightstand and quietly read to myself. After a hour, I put the book down and went to bed.
I was awaken by Victoria pulling me out of bed. I fall to the ground with a loud thump. I look right into her dark blue eyes, with red ones. She had pulled me out of a dream that I had longed for and fell on the floor. Not a morning I want to wake up to. She told me to get dressed with a look of disgust. Not wanting to anger her, I do as I am told.
"Lily, you are to pack all your belongings and to move them to the bedroom down the hall." Victoria said casually while I was still getting dressed, in the bathroom.
I ran out the bathroom, connected to my room, fully dressed, "Why? This is my room! I have the right to have my stuff in here!" I yell her with so much anger, my eyes blaze a fiery red.
