“I told my friend”, I typed faster then ever. I just got home from Lewis' house, we called his parents and said we were fooling around and broke a window. They were okay surprisingly, I mean they were slightly angry but they said accidents happen and told us to put cardboard in the window and they would call a window guy today. “He told me it was going to be fine he would be there for me through the whole thing and that I didn't have to worry. It felt nice to know he would support me. I told him I couldn't call the cops if I wasn't worried about being accused of lying and getting myself into more trouble I would have already”. I sighed and stared at my computer screen, how am I going to write this out the words were so many in my head but when I sat down to put them out into sentences they all just faded and didn't really make sense. I sighed and continued, “He held me until I fell asleep and went to the couch in his room. There is no one better then my best friend. I'm hoping everything will work out. School starts soon and I’m not looking forward to it”. I clicked save and made my way out of my room needing a jog.
“Ann where are you going”? I turned and saw Dad looking at me with a serious face.
“For a jog”, Before he could answer I said, “Well for a walk I might do some jogging too” I chuckled and he smiled then got a serious look on his face.
“The Stewart’s called they said a window was broken”? I groaned and silently damned them for calling my dad.
“We, Lewis and I were fooling around”, I saw the look on my dad's face and I jumped back in, “playing around, horsing around whatever you old people call it and a rock was thrown and well the glass was shattered. I will help pay for it I have some allowance money saved up”. My dad's face was full of approval that I was willing to help with the responsibility.
“Well that won't be necessary. Lewis admitted to it all and they took it out of his allowance but they just wanted me to know about it”. I nodded and smiled even though I felt like crying. Lewis never would have thrown that chair but I told him my secret. “Well enjoy your walk do you have your phone with you”? I nodded and patted my pocket and grabbed my house keys and put them in my other pocket. I took long strides, not really knowing or caring where I was going just letting my feet carry me through the neighborhood.
Bring. Bring. Bring. Bring. I really need a new ring-tone for real, I laughed at myself and pulled my phone out my pocket. Lewis, the name made me smile.
“Hello snitch”. I joked with him.
“I told them not to call your dad that it wasn't needed”.
“Well he just took a weeks allowance and said he is taking my phone tonight”. I stifled a laugh as Lewis let out a slight gasp.
“Man I’m so sorry maybe I can call him and he will know it was my fault”.
“Just joking”! I laughed loudly as Lewis let out a sigh of relief.
“You had me scared there for a second you know”.
“Yeah I know”.
“So what are you doing”?
“Taking a walk around the neighborhood”.
“Want me to join you”? Lewis lived the neighborhood a block over and was an easy walk here and there but I just needed time alone.
“No it's fine, if I need you I will call you okay”.
“Okay Ann”. I smiled and hung up the phone and put it back in my pocket and took off in a sprint, it felt nice the wind hitting my face my shoes pounding on the pavement. Turning corners running across the roads my breath was heavy and forceful I slowed to a light jog and eventually to a brisk walk I looked around to see where my feet took me and I saw it. The park. The park I first met Robert; the swings where our first kiss happened, I walked and sat on the swing crying. How can one person put me in so much pain. I don't understand how I can let one person do this to me. I pushed back and kicked my legs, I began to go higher and higher pumping my legs faster then ever. I wasn't caring about anything I closed my eyes it felt like I was flying and it felt good.
“Hello Anna-Nanna”, I fell off the swing, only Robert's little sister calls me that, “WOW ANNA YOU FELL HARD”. I stood and smiled at her, she looked like her mother brown hair, green eyes and a wonderful innocent smile. “Why haven't you been over to play”? I felt a pang of guilt not saying hello to her since it happened. But how was I really going to go back to that house. I couldn't.
“I'm sorry Betty”, I pulled her in for a hug and kissed her forehead. She was three almost four and she didn't fully understand much. I felt so terrible but she just wouldn't understand at all.
“Wobbie here”! She exclaimed suddenly and very excited.
“Robbie where”?! I turned and saw him walking towards us with a grin on his face, I wanted to move to run away but my legs were frozen and I couldn't move.
