The Doctor was in the console room, leaning over one of the control panels, she was using complicated, precise instruments to fiddle with some of the wiring inside. She tried to blow her hair out of her face as it was falling into her eyes and with a defeated sigh, let go of the tool to push it away, "Long hair is stupid." She muttered to herself.

"Oh, hey Yaz, you almost scared me there." She laughed as she continued to work on the console. Yaz had run into the room slightly panicking that the TARDIS wanted to kill her or something.

"Haha, yeah, um I wondered if-" Yaz began before being interrupted by the Doctor.

"Hold that though, could you pass me that, it rolled slightly out of reach." She said quietly, concentrating hard on whatever she was scrambling inside the wires and circuit boards. She reached her leg out behind her and strained to point to a little metal cylinder, blowing her hair out of her face frustratedly for the umpteenth time. Yaz quickly ran over picking it up, it was slightly warm to touch and was covered in tiny little crystals. "What's this for then." She asked handing it to the Doctor and leaning on an untouched part of the console.

"Its a communications- thingy" She replied deep in thought and concentration, "You were trying to say something when you came in."

"Oh yeah, there's something wrong with my bedroom." Yaz said staring at the ceiling and the crystals surrounding them.

"What?" The Doctor said, suddenly breaking out of her peaceful, logical trance and looking up at Yaz. "How do you mean?" She heard a little click and stood up satisfied with her work. As Yaz explained what had been happening, the Doctor tidied away her mess and brushed off her coat, growing more and more concerned as Yaz spoke.

"Anyway, it's no rush, I just thought I'd let you know." She concluded. "So what did you just do, what was that for?" She asked, she wanted to change the topic as she knew it could be dealt with later and she didn't want to worry the Doctor.

She smiled and said, "The TARDIS received a strange message, in the form of an energy she didn't recognise and couldn't translate into a legible message, I was just realigning this communication and translation wiring to hopefully get a better read."

She ran round to the other side of the console with a child like excitement, staring at the display she fiddled with buttons and switched until she threw down a bigger lever with excitement. Yaz watched her as she moved around, almost dancing to the beat of the TARDIS's engines, she looked so happy, until she wasn't, "Huh..." She breathed, "Well I wasn't expecting that.
