It has not even been a month of Yoongi's last year at university and he's already had enough. Falling back into the routine of constant assignments and slow walkers in campus felt incredibly weird and unfamiliar after that magical summer he spent in Russia. It was kind of nice to be back at his shared apartment with Tae, on his own twin-sized bed. Though nothing beat falling asleep and waking up next to the wonderful fairy.Jimin, he never even told him goodbye. And he regretted it deeply. As soon as he heard that his father was put into a hospital he took the first taxi and rushed to the airport, taking the earliest flight to Korea. Thank god it was nothing too serious. His father was knocked out by some thugs who robbed him and beat him up. Luckily he only received a few broken bones and a mild concussion. It was one of the biggest reliefs in his life. Though, it did not change the fact that he was now in Korea while the silver-haired boy was halfway across the globe.
He could have flown back for the remaining week before uni started, but there were no flights that fit his sad little salary. Working Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings as a part time pianist at a local cafe had its perks. But those perks were nowhere close to enough for a ticket and back, including his next month's living expenses. He would not dare ask his injured father for help. He therefore settled onto counting down days until the holidays. Those the days went by excruciatingly slow. Tae came back a week later, also noticeably less lively.
Almost everyday they would talk about the time spent in YMN village. They exchanged laugher, tears and hopeful smiles. He had heard all about Taehyung's relationship development with Hoseok, and he was incredibly supportive and happy for the latter's newfound love partner. But the ache of missing his own never seemed to lessen. September turned to October, and he still walked around with the weight on his heart. Though, the memories began to seem like a happy, fleeting dream, and it was devastating.
Until one day he came home to a strange sight.
After unlocking the front door (the key was stuck again for a solid five seconds) the first thing he noticed was an odd letter at his feet. The slightly crumbled parchment with an emerald green stamp lay there as though waiting for his arrival, perfectly square at his feet.
What's this? I'm too old for this Hogwarts bullshit, Yoongi thought, picking the envelope and flipping it around. A sudden screech made the blue haired (now icy blond as the colour completely washed out) drop the paper and look in the direction of his kitchen. He must be completely losing his mind. Was this a side-effect from missing Jimin so hard?
Cautiously, he sneaked into the room and froze in his tracks.A pearly white snow owl leisurely sat on the kettle handle, looking around. Yoongi slapped himself. I must be dreaming. Another screech made him turn his head again. The bird flapped it's wings a couple of times, creating a rather strong air flow, hitting the boys face and then calmed down, closing its eyes. A slam of the door and the shout of his roommate made the blonde come back to his senses.
"Hey hyung, you home yet?" Followed by a squeal of excitement, "Oh my god! What's this?"
Widening his eyes, he sprinted back to the entrance, snatching the letter out of Taehyung's hands who had already managed to tear a corner.
"Mine!" He hissed protectively, holding the envelope to his chest. The brunette looked at him, a bewildered look on his face.
"Okay then, I won't touch it, I'm sorry." He gulped then cast his eyes to Yoongi's hands, still clutching on to the poor paper. "Are you going to open it? Who's it's from?"
"Not sure, we also have a surprise guest in the kitchen."
"Really? Did you invite someone over?" Tae asked.
"I wouldn't really say that.." he said, sighing. The younger eyes him suspiciously, then shrugged his shoulders.
"You're acting weird today. I'll go entertain the guest after changing," and disappeared in the hallway.Taking a deep breath, Yoongi focused his attention aback at the letter, finally tearing it open. He slipped the slightly aged paper out of the envelope carefully and unfolded it. After seeing the senders name, his breath hitched.
Dear Yoongi,
You left the village so suddenly, I could not even say goodbye.
I hope your father is alright, I know how dear your family is to you. I pray for his fast recovery.
Good luck with your last in university, I know you will do amazing!
Please, do not despond, I have faith that we will meet again! I will make sure of that!I think about you every day.
I miss you, so so much it is unbelievable.. Hobi and Kookie are also missing you guys,
seems like the time is flowing much slower without you here.
The higher ups have drowned me in a lot of work, I guess that they do not trust me completely still.
I fly around all day, but the thought of you always keeps me going.I sent Chionia with the letter, she must be exhausted from the trip, please let her rest a little.
She is my most trusted friend, treat her well!
Anyway, I really do hope you are smiling. Please be happy.
I love you.
Until we meet again,Your Jimin xx
Dark green letters flowed on the page in beautiful cursive handwriting. He traced his fingers over it, feeling it through, completely immersed in the writing. Yoongi stated at the words, re-reading it over and over until the letters seemed to jumble up into a mess. A single tear fell on to the parchment with a tap, soaking in and causing the letters to bleed. He quickly rubbed his face with his sleeve, not allowing anymore to fall and ruin the letter. He dropped onto his knees and closed his eyes, sniffling and hiccuping.
Loud thumps burst into the entrance with Taehyung excitedly shouting, "Yoongi! You won't believe it, ITS AN OWL! An OWL was sitting on the-" his steps came to a halt as he saw the mess his friend was in. "Hyung, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" He crouched next to the shaking boy, rubbing his back in a soothing manner.
"It's okay, you're fine. Tell me what happened?"
Yoongi silently extended the letter for him to read. Hastily, the brown-haired skimmed over the words, a small smile tugging on his lips. "Isn't it great hyung? Jimin sent you a letter, he thinks about you.""I miss him.. Tae, I miss him so much! What do I do?" He wailed, embracing the boy tightly. Taehyung gently pat his back, allowing him to cry on his shoulder.
"Everything will be okay, you will meet again. He promised, didn't he?" His deep voice was lulling Yoongi, whose sniffles were becoming rarer. "How about we feed Chionia and send Jimin a letter back, huh?" After feeling his roommate nod, he slowly helped him stand up and head to the kitchen. The snow owl sat on the kettle handle, her yellow eyes staring knowingly at Yoongi. It's ya girl, finally with a sequel. I won't lie, I almost shed a tear myself at this chapter.
(As usual, wow this is sad) the update it over due. Hope you enjoy the continuation as much as you enjoyed the first part.
Get excited ;)
