Chapter 2

I know we have been married for five years, but I never knew he knew me this well. We were driving home from church in silence the first time in a long time. "Malachi we need to talk." I said with a tone that said I meant it. "I know we do Suzy, but can it wait until we get home?" He said after giving me a quick kiss as we were stopped at a red light. "I guess." With total disappointment in my voice.
The rest of the car ride we drove in silence when we pulled into the driveway I quickly took off my seatbelt and walked in. "So what do we need to talk about?" Malachi said as he sat down on the couch beside putting his arm around me as I laid my head on his shoulders. "now don't take this badly, but I think we should adopt." There was a moments pause and then Malachi spoke up. "I think that that is a great idea I really do, but with the band and all don't you think that would be hard?" I knew he was going to think that. We have had a band with our college friends Julianna and Peter who are also married since we got out of college I play the clarinet. I know its not typical band instrument when you have singers, but I don't know how to sing or play anything else. Julianna plays the guitar not electric just regular ole country guitar she is always a backup singer. Peter plays the piano, and on occasions sings. Malachi is the star of the group well that's what we joke about. He seems to be the only one that any fans know the name of. Of course there's a reasonable explanation he is the singer. "I know that it would be complicated. Trust me I thought of that, but even just having one child will be complicated with the band. " I said as I put my hands on my tiny stomach that's barely visible. "I know it will be ok we can adopt." Malachi said without the least bit of a hint of thinking about it. Then he gave me a kiss on my forehead. I hugged him for like seemed like forever until he made the comment about lunch.
5 months later
I am now five months pregnant with a little girl. In that five months we have adopted not one not two not three but FOUR yes four kids. There names are Gracie who is one and is so cute. Eliza who is two, and thinks that she is the boss of the house. Of course we let her believe that somewhat. Thomas who is the youngest at just 1 month. His mother put him up for adoption after her boyfriend left her. We found him and quickly adopted him. Then our latest addition who we are still in process of adopting little tiny baby Hannah. Even though she is five months I can already tell she is going to be smaller than Thomas. I feel bad for Thomas knowing that he is going to the only boy for a while. Oh well thats what God gave us, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Besides he has Juliannas and Peters soon as a play made. Timothy whom Julianna gave to birth to just a few days ago in fact four days ago.
