I wake up feeling cold, yet my arms and torso warm. I look around the dark room. It seems to be late, maybe around midnight. I look at the digital clock on Ethan's dresser. It's only 9:36 pm. I look at the man next to me. He looks adorable, asleep and snoring softly. I watch his chest rise up and down in a slow and steady rhythm. His eyes flutter open. I turn away quickly, hoping he didn't see.
"Should we go watch TV?" He asks me, sitting up on his elbows. I nod. When we get to the living room, we clean up Monopoly and throw away the pizza boxes. I fall onto the couch, Ethan following suit.
After three episodes of The Office and a lame Netflix 'original movie', I'm exhausted. I yawn as I lay my head on E's shoulder.
"Hey," he starts, tapping my shoulder with his opposite hand. "Do you wanna go sleep in my bed?"
"Um, yeah, I guess." He stands up, lightly grabbing my hand. He pulls me back to his room. I get comfortable under the covers, my eyes drooping. He turns the light off.
"I'll be on the couch." I feel guilty, I am taking his bed after all.
"Wait." He turns to look at me. "Can you sleep in here?" I immediately regret saying it. "I just feel bad for ta-" He sits down next to me, crawling under the duvet. I start to close my eyes, but I feel a warmth on my stomach and waist. I look down to see Ethan, arm draped around me. I play with his soft dark brown hair for a few minutes, dozing off to sleep.
I wake up with it still being dark outside. With Ethan asleep next to me, I get up and head to the bathroom. When I open the door, Ethan yells from his room.
"It's happening again!" I run over to his room. He's sitting up in bed, the blue liquid coming out of his mouth. I look in his eyes.
"What the hell?!" I whisper, shocked.
"What?"
"Your eyes..." Looking at his face, I stare at where his hazel eyes should be, but instead, I'm met with a black abyss. "They're black..." He blinks a few times putting his hand on his head.
A/N: This is the part where I started writing recently. If it doesn't make a lot of sense... sorry, I guess. (Its also the first time I've ever written something 'scary'.
"I'm, what? The room's spinning..." I sit on the edge of the bed, holding his hands. I look at the pain and confusion on his face.
"I don't know what to do. I-" He pulls his hands out of mine, laying back down.
"Help me, please. I don't know what's happening." He says with his voice cracking. I move over to where I slept, looking at him. I want to ask him to open his eyes, to see if he's okay, but the fear of them remaining dark is overwhelming. He is awfully quiet.
"E?" No answer. "Ethan?" More of the blue liquid pours out of his eyes, then his mouth. I shake his shoulder violently. He doesn't respond. My eyes tear up. "What?" His body starts convulsing, the intensity rising rapidly by the second. I stumble off the bed, afraid to do anything. The shaking stops abruptly. He sits up quickly, eyes still closed. His movement is stiff, almost robotic.
"Ethan?" He turns his head sharply, facing me. He opens his eyes and I'm once again greeted by darkness.
"Hello, darling," he says. This can't be right. It doesn't even sound like him.
"Who are you?" I say backing up as he walks toward me.
"I'm Blank. I think we're going to be great f̴̨͉̺̐̽̍̍͑ŕ̸̠̲̌̑ͅi̷̭̺̎͊͂e̷̡͙̙̩̜͐̒͛n̷̡̮̘͙̍͛̔͠d̵͙͈́͊͠ṣ̶̞̈́ ."
