Hey guys :D This is a really short fanfiction for 'The Night Circus'. It doesn't really relate, though. When I was writing this, I actually didn't read the Night Circus yet, just the 'Aniticipation' bit in the beginning, so it connects. I didn't know it was a romance novel, so I wrote this very descriptive version of what I thought was the Night Circus. Enjoy! :D
PLEASE leave me a comment on what you think, I really want to know (:

So it begins...
The lingering question suspends through the night air. What is this carnival? Soft whispers fly through the group of visitors. But you stand perplexed. The black and white is so colorless, yet you feel that this is the most dazzling sight you have ever seen. The two colours, black and white, have such a great contrast, but are still so beautiful. You take a daring step forward. Silence fills the air. The wind drifts around you, leaving your hair flowing freely. The wind spirits are telling you to escape. Suddenly, chaotic force from the wind pulls you backwards, but you don't care. All you think of are those magical firefly lights. Those black and white stripes which are so beautiful, that they can blind you. There is something about this circus, something dangerous, something mysterious. But, will you ever reach it?
The gate looms over you, covering your face with black silhouettes. A soft white glow invades the moonlight the minute you brush your fingers along the gate. Smoke seems to steep out of you, as if all your energy is being evaporated. The hollow feeling inside you subsides as you stroll down the busy carnival street. The smell, so sweet, so delicious, it smells just like honey. The black and white tents are bigger than others, but their shadows are, indifferent. Some of the silhouettes are a pure white; however, others are midnight black. The streets are filled with people, but their emotions are dull and lifeless. Like someone whose life fills with nothingness. You know that something is wrong, but do you care?
You look around. The tents are strange in many ways. Something about them are so... alluring. All you want to do is take a peek inside. What is there laid out for you? What is there for you to explore? Looking around, you see something that catches your eyes. Over in the north-east direction, stalls are set up in a horizontal straight line. So straight, that the perfection is disturbing. The first stall holds the palm reader. Her white hair, so colorless, yet, her black beady eyes fill with incredible knowledge and interest. Her features, so beautiful, as if she doesn't fit in with the carnival. She wears a milky, silk robe, stitched with pretty black stars. She stands there, staring at everyone. Once in a while, her eyes glimmers with wisdom, other times, she murmurs to herself. Her pet, a pure white two head goose, waddles around, jumping whenever he sees a shadow. Seemingly, the shadows scare him, so much that its mouth lets out a tiny squeal whenever it sees one. No one notices it. They are too distracted to see. Too ignorant to notice. Candy is given to the cute kids by the palm reader. Her sweet smile reassures the children, but she cannot fool you. You notice that there is something sickening about her smile. The piece of candy shaped as a moon or sun, glimmers. Whenever someone touches it, their shadows disappear. Fade away. Escape without any traces. No matter where the person stands, their shadow will never be found.
The next stall bears the two twin necromancers. One wears entirely white clothes and the other wears entirely black. Both of them are gifted with magnificent powers. The power to shoot rays of white or black light. The crowd stands, mouth-drooping, amazed with what the two of them can do. Sometimes, when they are in an argument, they attack each other with beams of light, entwining the two colours together, creating black and white candy-canes. "Ahhs" and "woos" filled the crowd of people, and the necromancers gives a little kind smile. Their feet trample across the fields. But you notice that they do not touch the ground, and instead, levitates above, like a pair of hovercrafts. But however, the visitors are too dazzled. Once in a while, they shoot blazes of light towards the visitors, on a purposeful accident and their amazement in their eyes suddenly turned blank, and empty.
