FAMILY GATHERING

I walked through the door into the cabin, I threw my bag on the floor and clasped on the settee , I heard a screeching sound coming from the side of the room, " Elanoura?" oh grate it's my Father, I sat up and rubbed my eyes , my father stood infront of me holding out a blue dress with lace pattern faling across the one side of the dress over the poofy material "It's a bit to you know poofy don't you think?" my father looked down at me with a angrey expression on his face "No,my dear this is the national dress for a caster exept for the colour , I just picked that out myself" to be honest to you I had no Idea what my Father was doing in the middle of my cabin "you haven't forgot about the gathering have you, dear tonight is the night that the rest of the family finds out that you exist" wow that felt hurtful even know it was true "well come on then you have to be in the manour by five" I got the dress out of my fathers hands and went to get changed. After I got changed I put silver open-toe high heals on ,my father had said it was also the national footwear but I  think he was just trying to make me wear them, again I let my hair fall all over the place but this time I didn't let it cover my face, I untangled the bracelets on my wist (that I never took off). I walked out the door and stood by the tunnel hatch waitng for my father to get off the settee , my father got up and walked over to me  "you look lovely my dear" he said holding out his arm waiting for me to grab it , my father never mentioned enything about my mother , if I ever asked him about her he'd always say  she was a nice person and completely change the subject. I grabbed his arm and we started walking through the tunnels with Buddy trotting after us. I was shaking the hole way through , I was a bit nervous considering I've never met my family before, exept for my grandmother . We got out of the tunnels and into the manour , we walked into the dining room and Evangeline came running up to me, Evangeline had always been like a mother to me even know she was sixty three , she hugged me and walked out of the room,  my grandmother came walking up to me "you look gorgeous my darling " "oh, thank you " I didn't realy know what to say, I guess I was just going to leave the talking to everyone else . Evangeline came hurrying in the room with a box  "here you are, dear" she handed me a wooden box with the moon cycle carved on it "It's a puzzle box, here's how you open it" Evangeline took it out of my hands and started mooving the sides on the box to open it, making shore no one was looking at us ,"thanks, angie" I smiled and started fiddling with the box.

"The family are here!" my grandmother said rushing in the room, my father grabbed me by the arm and took me into the little study by the living room."where did you get that?" my father said looking at the box "oh, Evangeline gave it to me" "well, put it away , you can't take that in the dining room with you,  you have to be concentrating" wow I didn't know family gatherings were so important, I looked at him with a shoked look on my face, my fathers face untitend a bit "look, I've never done enything like this before and I don't know how there going to react, none of them know we have a Elky in the family".yeah,I'm an Elky one of the most powerful supernatural being in the world which gets on my nerves sometimes, I can still do spells and travel and the sort of stuff every other caster can do but I can also do enything a Incibus,Evo or litrely enything else can do exept I have one power of my own, I can control plants ,not realy the most intresting power in the world. "Well, It's time to go out there, are you ready? " my father got up and put his arm out for me again, I didn't ansur him I just nodded instead, as I mentioned earlier I'll just let him do the talking, I grabed his arm and we started walking to the dining room. Once we got there we stood at the end of the table that everyone was sitting by,"Uhem!" everyone turned to face my father but they weren't exactly looking at him, they were all staring at me stood next to him , "Macon, who is that?" a woman said standing up next to the table "Delphine, how very rood of you my daughter is not a that " my father said it realy calmly , I couldn't have said it like that, I was about to have a nervous melt-down, I mean what if my family didn't axept me ,which was a pritty stooped thing to say  but I don't know my family what if they do, "Macon, she can't be your daughter,  she has blue eyes ", "Delphine, she is not a mortal stop overreacting" the person aparently called Delphine sat back down then looked back up at my father ,"It is true she is my daughter, her mother is Victoria Cavestone " I had never heard my Mothers name before,  "you mean you fell in love with a dead dark caster from over one hundred years ago?" this was getting realy confusing for me right now , "she wasn't dead! she was trapped in the grate barrier!" I had never seen my father snap like that before even I stared at him stuned, my father took a deep breath "I apologise,  I didn't fall in love with her when she was a dark caster she was still sixteen when we met, the night after she turned Elanora was born, I was forsed to keep her a secorate since she's a *sigh* Elky" the room whent still, everyone on the table was looking at me and my father exept for my grandmother and Evangeline.My grandmother stepped in "Elanoura , that lady there is your aunt Delphine my daughter and that man sitting opposite to her is your uncle Abner Delphine's husband" she pushed me to the back of the table "right my dear these are your cousin's , this is Ryan" she put her hand on a little girl siting next to uncle abner then she pointed to a

person sitting next to aunt Delphine " and that girl there is Reece and that girl sat next to her is Ridly and the person sat opposite is Lena".Lena look guilty I knew wye but I wasn't that upset about how she treated me today."wye on earth would you bring this up at a time like this!" aunt Del shouted getting up "as if we haven't got enough things to worry about, are powers are out of controle Abraham and Sarafine are out there doing god knows what and you decided to tell us that we have an Elky in the family which hasn't existed for about seventeen years!!" she was shouting uncontrollably and my father didn't seem calm enymore he was furious "Delphine! , when else was I going to tell you this girl might have to power to stop all this!" my father was red and tens ,"Well now you put us in more danger Abraham,  Sarafine and Victoria are after us so now not onely are our powers out of controle but we also have two of the darkest and most powerful casters in the world after us and an extremely powerful incabus after us to!!" , I just lost it then , tears started falling down my face as if my first day of school wasn't hard enough "STOP IT!!!!" I screamed and went running for the tunnels , I didn't even look if one of them where running after me cause I didn't care the onely place I wanted to be right now was in the cabin curled up on the settee with Buddy.

I got in and put my pajamas on straight away , I sat down on the settee curled up in a blanket with a box of tissues and a drink of hot chocolate with Buddy lying down infront of the settee. Buddy got up and walked of probilly going to his bed , I took another tissue and looked back up, Buddy was sat infront of my with me old scrap book in his mouth, I got it out of his mouth and offered him to come up on the settee, he jumped up next to me and put his head on my arm I opened the book and looked at each picture for a long time as if the pictures of my past were going to fade away. after a while I heard someone opening the hatch from the tunnels but  I didn't move I didn't care what my father had to say at the moment."Are you okay my dear?" I fealt a bit better that my grandmother was here instead of my father had " I guess so" "Tell me  the truth" Buddy jumped off the settee and my grandmother sat next to me, her voice was calm and soft I felt as if I was six years old again when I locked myself in my bedroom because people started picking on me for refusing to eat the apple pie we all made in school it might sound stooped but true. I looked up at her from the book "I just feal as if I'm a big mistake something that was never suposed to happen but obviously I am counting on the thing that happened tonight" my grandmother looked right at me with a small smile on her face "Elanoura you are not a mistake, me , Evangeline and your father wouldn't be here if you were" she smiled at me , it made me feal a lot better . "what are you reading" she pointed at the my scrapbook "Oh nothing realy" I gave up, my grandmother would have made me give it to her anyway, I handed it to her and she  flipped through the pages "who are these people your standing with" she was pointing at me ,Link and Ethan when we were ten at the summer time dance that the DAR put up because someone's parent complained about having a winter formal and not having a summer one."Thats just some people I knew" "What are there names?" I took a  deep breath, I pointed to them on the photo "the one in the middle is Wesly Lincoln and the one next to him is Ethan wate , we were best friends before... I fell" "I know those boys, you were best friends with Ethan wate and his friend that  keeps folowing  Ridley around " I larghed at her comment about Link I was right he hadn't changed at all, "yeah" I was still larghing cause I was thinking how stooped  Link was or possibly still is "Are you ok now my dear" she was larghing to

"yeah thanks Grandma" she stopped larghing a little bit and got up "well I better get back and tell the others your ok, see you tomorrow my dear" then she walked back down the tunnels.
