A little ficlet of what's to come! The minute I heard this song I new it clicked.
Ready as I'll Ever Be - Tangled the series
Theyre both on the roof, Goldys looking out at the view with a hand on her chin. She looks to be in deep thought.
"Any moment now 'your highness'" She looks to unicorn, with a blank expression.
"Believe me, I know. I've sunk pretty low. But whatever I've done they deserve." She paces near unicorns cage, making various hand gestures as she rambles. Anger seeps into her at the simple thought of her so called friends.
Goldy-" Unicorn tries speak up, perhaps talk her out of whatever she was planning. It was a futile attempt as he was cut off.
"Quiet!" The girls yells frustratedly. "I'm the bad guy, that's fine! That's no fault of mine and some justice at last will be served."
"Please listen." He attempts helplessly, though it only goes through deaf ears.
"Now it's time to step up or it's time to back down and there's only one answer for me." She pulls out the handle of her green lightsaber with one hand. Her grip tightens around as she looks at it with determination written all over her face.
"And I'll stand up and fight cause I know that I'm right." Goldy continues, activating it, the light green beam forms out of the handle as she swings it to the side and does so in a quick motion, as if it It were a sword.
Unicorn can only sit and stare from his iron confines as the girl of his dreams looks out into the front view of the daycare. Such hate ridden her face shouldn't be what Goldy is facing. It aches his heart to see her this hurt.
"And I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready!"
She stands at the edge of the roof, smiling wickedly while admiring the view from where she is. A determined expression forms on her face.
"Ready as I'll ever be!"
Tina and Ryan are in the slingshot squad meeting room with everyone else, discussing their plan on how to get Goldy back to normal. They mainly discussed ideas on how to retrieve Unicornman and how to defend themselves in case she decides to ever attack.
The main problem was how to bring her back to her old self.
"Now it's time to rise up or it's time to stand down and the answer is easy to see." Ryan raises his voice at the slingshot squad members, in a determined attitude, in an attempt to ease everyone's concerns.
"And I swear by the 'sword' if you're in, get on board! Are you ready?"
"I'm ready!" Tina yells triumphantly, pumping her fist in the air.
"Were ready!" Everyone else replies. Feeling
A content smile form on Ryan face. They had a fairly decent plan that still needed some work but they had each other. With the help of Unicorn, if they manage to get him back, would be even more helpful to reall get their plan going.
"Ready as I'll ever be." He finishes.
Tina walks out of the meeting room and sits down in her office chair to take a breather. She felt uneasy about the whole thing, they had no idea if any of this is going to work or how Goldy would respond.
She incredibly unstable right now, who knows what could happen?
"Tina?" Ryan walks in with a concerned voice. The tiger sat at her desk, arm crossed on table, and looking away thoughtfully.
He was about to say something until she let out a shaky sigh before speaking.
"Are you quiet sure we can do this?" She slowly turns her way towards Ryan but is still making and effort to avoid eye contact.
The tenseness that was building up within Ryan diminished. Tina was only scared, he couldn't blame her, everyone including himself were nervous about this whole situation.
He walks to her, grabbing both of her hands into his own in a comforting manner. Her eyes widen at the gesture and her brain jumbled at the action and cheeks slightly flushed. He stares straight into Tina's eyes.
"Together we will guarantee!"
"I'll make them hear me!" Goldy yells out to herself, still standing on the edge of the roof with her lightsaber in hand.
"Now it's time to redeem or it's time to resolve!" The slingshot squad said to get her in unison.
Different people wrote various ideas on the whiteboard. Paper scattered the long table as separate group tried to form their own strategies.
"Prove they can trust me." Tina says hopefully. A smile grew on her face, her hands still held tightly into Ryans'."
"And the outcome will hardly come free." The daycare kids say once again.
Ryan and Tina walk in the room, hand in hand, everyone stops what their doing for a moment to look over at the two.
"I'll save my home and family." Ryan says.
Seeing the hopefulness in Ryan and Tina's eyes sent relief and hope through everyone else as well. They know they got this even if they failed.
"Now the lines in the sand and our moments at hand!"
"And I'm ready!" Tina yells.
"We're ready!" The daycare kinds yell.
"I'm ready!" Ryan says last.
For a few moments, the golden girl closes her eyes.
"Ready as I'll... ever BE." She opens them and her once chocolate brown orbs were temporarily replaced with a dark red.
I really want to animate this but I cant because... obvious reason! So writing it out is the next best solution!
I'm really enjoying this beautiful story as much and all of you are! You don't even know. I'm putting my heart and soul into this book and it makes my day reading your comments.
Also I guess you can say that this story is an AU. Like, I like to think of this as an official AU.
