To the untrained eye, this could have easily looked like a warzone. It even took Jungkook's unusually keen eye more than a minute to assess the situation and deem it better for his own safety to retreat back behind the door to the room.

Everything that had once been placed neatly on a surface was now scattered in various states of destruction across the floor, both parties left in the room panting heavily as they stared each other down, neither wanting to break the tension that was weighing heavily in the room.

Never in your life had you unloaded a string of curses like you had just a few minutes ago. Part of you almost wished you were possessed by some evil spirit to explain your behavior, but you knew that it was the cumulative frustrations of the past weeks, or months was it now?

You had long lost track given that your life had been completely turned upside down. It was gradual, but the longer you stayed there, the more you became an empty shell of what you once were.

It had been weeks already since the escape attempt. Weeks of what would have looked like a normal relationship to anyone looking from outside. Weeks of spending almost every waking moment together.

Weeks of passionate and intense sex-filled days and nights. Weeks of saying each other's names with different intensities in each other's skins. Weeks of falling asleep to each other's soft breathing and heartbeats.

Weeks where you had tried, and sometimes even succeeded, to forget the circumstances leading to your being in his house, in his care. Weeks where you had mainly stopped thinking about the outside world, living in the moment.

Weeks where you ignored the metallic smell of blood that would appear on his shirts at times, likely not his own. Weeks where you brushed aside his frantic screaming and cursing coming from his room on the opposite side of the hallway.

But as his world was resuming normally, your silences grew longer, your stares into the emptiness became more frequent, and he never seemed to notice, or he was blissfully ignoring the signs of the impending explosion that had just occurred. It was such a simple question too. It wasn't supposed to go down like that. It wasn't supposed to spiral out of control. But you had to ask. You had to understand. You had to be honest.

"Yoongi," You softly said, drawing circles with your fingers over his hand resting on your stomach. He nudged the back of your neck with his nose, hugging you tighter as his body molded yours from behind.

It was such an ordinary day like any other. This had become the "normal" in your now abnormal life. But, as you laid in bed next to him that morning, you had to ask. You had to stop living in the illusion of normalcy.

"What now?" you asked as you continued drawing patterns on the skin of his hand. He let out a groggy grunt before placing a small kiss on the nape of your neck. "Hmm?"

You inhaled a deep breath and exhaled slowly, closing your eyes as if you did not want to witness what you knew was bound to happen. "What.. are we? What is going to happen to me? What next?"

You felt it. The tension in his arms. The hold on you tightening. The subtle movement of his head behind your back. The question that was coming.

"Why now?"

Those two words. That was it. Why now? Why not now!? Something in you started boiling.  It was as if your will to fight had just been injected back inside you in that short moment. Like the fact that this situation was anything but normal just slapped you right back in the face.

His usually sharp reflexes were not enough to hold you down when you suddenly jerked out of his embrace and rolled off the bed just so you could get up to face him. You could have sworn his eyes had doubled in size at your sudden shift of attitude, erasing any sign of sleepiness that was still on his face just a few seconds prior.
