As everyone ran out into the hallway which lead to the stage, I managed to push my way through people while holding Ava's hand. Marcus trailed behind slightly, but soon caught up to us.
"Do you think we can make it?" Ava screamed over the massive amounts of noise in the small hallway.
"Of course!" Marcus said, then brought his eyebrows closer together. "Actually, I don't know." I laughed a little bit until I remembered Jack and how he would've said nearly the same thing. Did I just loose my best friend?
"Are you okay>" Ava asked me, putting her hand on the side of her mouth to amplify the sound of her usually quiet voice.
"I'm okay, It's just Jack," I had mentioned him briefly to her before, but I'm blanking out out on wether or ont I said he kissed me prior to the show.
"Oh don't worry, he's probably just being stupid. I'm sure he'll come around when he sees you on the cover of a magazine somewhere," Ava laughed and the doors opened. The stage seemed small now, with the contestants crowding it.
"Alright everyone, let's hush up please," Patrick leaned into his microphone. "We are going to tell you who is going on as we film, so your reaction will be genuine. Room 1, I know you're new to this but Room 3 had been good sports before so remember, if you don't make it, or you do, don't make the other contestants upset alright?"
The cameras started rolling and the next few minutes were a blur. The talking was so loud I couldn't hear my own thoughts.
"You ready?" Ava smiled at me, our hands still attatched. I nodded in responce and the lights around the stage were turned on, the rest of the room dark.
"Now I know you all know that this was a hard choice for us, since you've all got so much alent. But there can only be one room moving on and that room s going to be-" The female judge pauses to build suspense before announcing the winners. "Room One!"
Am I in Room One? I am? Oh my god- I'm going to
"WE'RE GOING TO LOS ANGELES!" Marcus screams and picks me up, though he only met me an hour or so ago, I could tell we would become very good friends.
"Oh my god my parents are going to be so happy!" Ava cheered, patting me on the back with her dainty hands. "And Matt! Oh my god!"
I suddenly remember the boy about Ava's age standing on the side of the stage before her audition. Is that Matt?
"Congrats Room One, I'd go pack your bags because you're going to Los Angeles," The female judge, whose name was Nita said.
The other room was escorted out of the building, so we had the place to ourselves. People ran around hugging their families and friends, while I stood motionless, in shock.
"Are you okay Hadley? You havent said much recently," Marcus says as he rubs my back. Ava appears infront of us with the boy from earlier, and she's holding his hand.
"Guys, this is Matt and he's my uh, he's my boyfriend," Ava giggles and leans into Matt, who is beaming.
"Hi guys," Matt waves to us and kisses the top of Ava's head. "I'm guessing you guys will take good care of my girl while she's in LA?"
"Of course we will," Marcus steps foward and shakes Matt's free hand. Matt smiles a bit wider before clearing his throat, and I can tell he's getting a little upset.
