Iris👆
Third POVIris watched her father walk around the house, preparing things for their guests that were soon to arrive. "Make sure you clean up dear." He said to Iris, smiling as he walked out of the room and upstairs. Iris sighed as her white hair fell in delicate waves from her ponytail when she bent her head. Her purple eyes glistened as she made her way to wash, dodging a few items here and there.
As she went upstairs, she saw a picture of her dead little sister. Her eyes went watery as she set the picture on its face. Her sister died from a cruel being. That being her mother. Or if you could call her that. The tears in Iris' eyes faded as she walked into the washroom.
Iris grabbed a tea towel and dabbed her face with water, then washed her hands. She went back downstairs and sat down, waiting like the good darling she was.
Then she heard the bell ring and her father yell,"I'll get it deary!". Iris smiled at her goofy attorney of a father. She and her father were pretty well off. Her education set out for her for after she graduated high school.
"Iris dear, meet Mrs. Hawthorne and Mr. Hawthorne. They will be joining us for dinner." Iris only smiled and waved, her pale lips unable to form any words. "My daughter should be here any minute now." Mrs. Hawthorne said, fanning herself with her gloved hand. Then Iris' father leaned over and whispered in her ear, and her eyes widened in surprise.
"Umm, Iris?" Mrs. Hawthorne hesitantly. "Yes ma'am?" Iris replied, her tone barely above a whisper as it was carried away in the wind. "What would you think of marriage?" Iris bit her tongue, her eyes widening at the suggestion. "Marriage? Well, I don't mind it. I, of course, want love." Iris said, her tone low and pale cheeks red. Just then the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" Iris said, standing abruptly and going to open their door. Once it opened, Iris dropped her napkin, and saw the most stunning girl of her life.
Her eyes, blue and icy, her hair, blonde and curly, and her face, peach and smooth-looking. Then she spoke."Move."
