Phantom
I have seen you
treading slowly
like you were afraid
you would hurt
the ground beneath
your feet;
I have seen you
touch the walls
to know the texture
so soft:
like they would break
under the featherlight touch
of your fingers
I have seen you drinking up
murals with your eyes
hoping to retrace them
once you got back:
as if they would never know
your admiration for them
like they were lifeless;
You fail to know, my love,
that the murals admire you
with the life, they see
jerking in you
with each step you take
each touch you are cost
and each spell you cast;
you are no inconsequential being in the vastness of the universe.
you are a universe in its own; thousands of galaxies,
no one can decipher-
clashing within you
chilling our bones
because of the otherworldliness
only you seem to give off.
