Chapter One

I wake up in an empty field, soft snow covering the ground below me. What am I doing here? I think and look up. I see the moon in the dark sky, but no stars.

Suddenly I feel myself being lifted off the ground.

I gasp and look down. I'm maybe ten or twenty feet into the air.

I look up again, and I realize I'm right in front of the moon.

"Elsa," says a deep man's voice.

I look around, but I'm the only one around for what seems like miles.

"Who said that??" I ask, my voice shaking.

"I did," the voice seems to be coming from... no. That's not possible. The moon can't talk! "I am the Man In Moon," he tells me.

I shake my head. "Wait, how does the moon know my name? How does anyone know my name?" It's strange how the moon knows my name, but I don't. In fact, I can't remember anything. Everything is completely blank.

I don't know how I got here, nothing.

"Why am I here?"

"I brought you here. You see, Elsa, you died."

"Died?!"

"Yes. But I have brought you back. You have much potential."

"The moon brought me back to life! This is crazy!"

"I have also made you immortal."

"Immortal?!" My eyes widen. This has to be a dream. No, a nightmare. In a few minutes I'll wake up, and I'll laugh because of this foolishness.

"I know this all seems impossible, but it's true. You'll see for yourself." I slowly begin to go back to the ground. My bare feet touch the snow. Surprisingly, it doesn't feel cold at all.

I wiggle my toes in the snow. Wait, where are my shoes? Do I not have shoes?

i shake my head then look back at the moon. "Can you at least give me my memory back?" I ask. I must look crazy, talking to the moon. But this is just a dream, this isn't real.

No answer.

"Excuse me?"

Still nothing.

"It's rude not to answer!"

When he doesn't answer the third time, I give up and begin walking out of the field. Maybe if I find civilization, I'll remember everything.

As soon as I leave the field I walk into the forest.

Trees surround me. I reach out and touch one of them, then pull my hand away when frost lays where I put my hand.

"Woah..." I whisper and stare at my hands. "Did I really do that...?" I look back at the frost covered tree.
