I walk into Mythos, a small but expensive as all fuck Italian/Greek restaurant. I'm wearing high waisted jeans to show off my ass and body, a taupe blouse that's low cut and shows my shoulders, and black heels. I'm feeling hot as fuck in my outfit and confident as all hell. I go up to the hostess and ask if there is a table for Harper. She tells me to follow her and my confidence starts to slip. I've never been on a real date, let alone with an older man. I start to think my hair doesn't look the way I intended for it to look, I start questioning the outfit, and just about everything else.
In the midst of worry and second guessing, we head to a booth that is more secluded and in the corner of the restaurant and there sits a man whose looks take me by surprise. He looks like his profile picture, but better. The pictures must've been foggy, because this man has just made my theoretical pussy wet.
"Cooper, I presume?" He motions for me to sit, as I do I size him up. Sitting, I can already tell he's tall, he has dark brown almost black hair, a perfectly-trimmed beard, and green eyes. He's in a black suit with a white undershirt, no tie.
"So, Cooper, how are you this evening?" He asks me, looking at me with a gentle, yet mischievous smirk. The hanging light above us gives off a golden light that gives his eyes a very bright gleam.
"I-I'm good, a little nervous," I say, "and how are you?"
He chuckles a little, "I'm great now, might I add that you look beautiful?"
"Oh, please, I feel so underdressed. You look very handsome, though." As I end my sentence our waitress comes with two wine glasses and a bottle of red wine.
"One bottle of Sassicaia, correct Mr. Hart?" Harper looks over the bottle and nods, "Let me know if you need help looking over the menu, as well as when you two are ready to take your orders." She says as she leaves the room. I look around and really notice that we are the only ones in the room. There are about four tables and eight booths in total, but as busy as the restaurant sounds, we are alone.
"Would you like a glass?" He asks me, handing an already poured glass of wine.
"I only sixteen though... won't the staff notice?" I ask, also worried that he might try to get me drunk just to kidnap me.
"Don't worry about the staff, they've been paid a little extra to look the other way." He says this, pushing the glass a little closer and giving me that same smirk. I take the glass and take a sip, the wine is a little bitter but nothing crazy. I set it down and look over the menu, already knowing that I'll just be getting a salad, not wanting to look like a pig on the first date.
"What grade are you in now, Cooper?"
"Eleventh," I say, taking another couple of sips, hoping that it'll loosen me up.
"Ahh so are your SAT's are coming up?"
"Not for another couple of months, but I'm a smart bitch so I'll pass." I blurt out not even thinking about it. Harper laughs, making me laugh. "Sorry, I don't know where that came from." I say in between laughs.
"Don't apologize, who doesn't love a good sense of humor?" He says as he finishes pouring his glass. I take another sip of of the wine and put my menu down, looking at Harper again. Noticing, once more how handsome he is.
"I have to ask, what made you message me?" I ask, as the question has been in the back of my head.
"I saw your pictures that you looked unbelievably cute in, which are just an understatement to how beautiful in real life you are. I read your bio, and for a sixteen year old you just seemed very well put together. I just had to see for myself if there was something I was missing."
"Well am I worth your while so far?" I ask giving a little smirk.
"So far? I'd say so," he gives a quick wink, "Mindy!" He says a little loud, making me jump. Our waitress comes to us with her own and notepad ready, "We'll have two chicken parms, please Mindy."
His assertiveness and dominance takes me by surprise, "Oh wait... I'm having a salad, not the chicken parm. The Greek salad please."
"Oh you have to try the chicken parmesan, it's out of this world. Make it two chicken parmesans with a side greek salad, please."
"You've got it sir, and let me know if you need anything else. I'll be right out with that salad." She writes our order down and leaves.
"You're going to make me gain so much weight I can tell." I say, giggling as serious as I am.
"Oh you can afford it, babes. Don't think otherwise. Although, most people would've just kept quiet and wouldn't get what they wanted. I like a little competition for dominance." He looks me up and down, biting his lip.
"Oh believe me, you won't have to do that much," I wink, sipping the last bit of wine in my glass, "fill me up." I say seductively, handing him my glass.
He shakes his head, looking down as he fills my glass, "You're going to get me in trouble, aren't you?" He hands me my glass and I wink at him.
Mindy comes back with my salad and breadsticks that fill the air with the magnificent smell, "Freshly baked breadsticks, as requested sir. Enjoy!" I dig into my salad, as Harper starts to pull apart a breadstick, popping it into his mouth.
"So have you thought about what you want to do when you get out of high school?"
"Yeah, I'm going to be a stripper." I say laughing before I got it all out. When it is all out Harper laughs too.
"Well I don't think there's one person in the world that wouldn't pay to see you." He says chuckling. "But really, what do you want to do?"
"I don't know, I've thought about cosmetology, I've also thought about modeling. Definitely not a regular nine-to-five job, that's not me." I take a few more sips of my wine and continue eating my salad. "What are you planning for your company?"
"At the moment there aren't many big projects. We not so recently started selling in a few malls, outlet malls, and we expanded to shipping to Canada, England, and Mexico." He says this with a calm expression, as if it wasn't like his business wasn't available in four countries.
"'There aren't many big projects,'" I copy, "Please! That's huge! I've never met someone so successful at such a young age! You're only twenty-eight right?"
"Oh don't remind me," he laughs, "I can feel the wrinkles forming and the gray hairs growing."
I roll my eyes, "Please! You don't look a day over twenty-five, honest!"
He puts his hand to chest and slightly bows his head, "Thank you, thank you. That means something coming from a beauty like you."
I look down at my almost gone salad and smile, hearing these things for the first one in my life make me feel a way I've never felt before: appreciated. I finish the little bit of salad and set aside the plate.
I sip my wine, and I start to really feel the buzz. My senses numb and my head feels lighter. I notice he's drinking as well, not as much as I have yet, but still is.
"You're not driving tonight are you?" I ask, my speech beginning to slightly slur.
"No, my driver is outside. You're not driving either, I assume?"
"No, I took an Uber here, and plus I don't have a car," I say, taking another sip of my wine.
"I can give you a ride if you'd like?" He asks, but not in a pushy way. I ponder it for a second, but as I do our food comes out.
"Two chicken parmesan. Enjoy!" Mindy hands us our food and I grab my silverware and dig in.
As soon as the flavorful pasta hits my tastebuds, I'm glad I was talked into getting the chicken parmesan. "All right, I confess, this chicken parm is fucking good!" I say, having another bite.
Harper chuckles and holds up his now half empty glass of wine, "To new beginnings." He says, I hold mine up as well and repeat him, taking my last sip of my second glass. He fills up my glass and the rest of the night is filled with slurred laughter, good conversation, and a car ride home that sadly, leads nowhere. Although after five glasses of wine, I don't know how much I'd be up to.
