We were playing in the field again dancing and I was practicing my curtsy. I feel and at more mud but it was fine we were enjoying the fields and the market. But the sun wouldn't last forever and I had work to do. so I said my goodbyes to the kids and went home.

Hope- Mom I'm home are you up?

Mom- yes dear, I'm in the kitchen

Hope- I'm gonna start plowing the fields. And maybe later we could go to the stabled and get a new mule?

mom- Amber you know we can't afford a new mule.

Hope- I know but I've convinced him to give it to us for five gold coins.

mom- Amber I said NO.

I went out and started to do my work. I worked and worked till sundown when the castle's shadow was over our field it was time for dinner. my dad had died two months after the mule my mom says it was from a broken heart but I thought otherwise. My mom never liked the rulers and now hated them even more for being on their death beds. this I never understand.

Hope- Mom why is the castle so close?

mom- because we left our old town and to keep us safe they built it closer.

Hope- but don't they know that it blocks the sun and our crops suffer from it?

mom- I don't know if they know that but that's the price we must pay.

my mom left the table and went to bed but I had a plan forming in my head. I decided to write the Queen a letter telling her about our situation. my note said this:

Princess Megan,

I'm a villager with a problem. your castle at one point in the day blocks the crops and that makes them take longer to grow. When you become queen will you please see that this problem is solved.

Amber

The next morning I sent it. I was not expecting it to be returned till a little after the death of the queen and king but in the same week I received a letter from the Queen saying:

Amber,

Your letter was received by the queen herself and finds it rude that you would question my decision for the safety of this town.

It was not signed and that made me feel even more upset than was needed I decided I must talk to the queen.
