It was cleaning day. If my two sisters think they're just gonna be walking the streets of Birmingham and doing god knows what while I'm working my ass of to put food on the table then they're sadly mistaken. They're not gonna just be sitting on their butts while I work hard, it's time to put some sweat on their foreheads.

"Anna! Eden! Get your asses down here!" I call from downstairs as I hear they're footsteps rushing downstairs.

"Is there a fire?!"

"A thief!?"

"Someone broke in?!"

"Calm down, the lot of you," I shake my head as they panic and look around frantically.

"Then why'd you call us downstairs?" Eden asks.

"Yeah, we were talking," Anna rolls her eyes.

"Well too bad because it's time for you both to work," I smile sweetly.

"What?!" They both gasp.

"Yup. Time to work," I nod.

"Work?! Work where?!" Anna exclaims.

"Here. Now," I say simply.

"What do you mean? What are we working for? Why?" Eden questions.

"It's cleaning day and you both will be cleaning. If you think you both can laze around while I work my butt off then you both got another thing coming," I warn.

"But-" Anna starts.

"No buts. Now Eden you get the tin tub and rubbing board, put some water in it and get some soap. I put the dirty clothes in the basket near the back door so all you have to get is the tub, water, soap, and board. Now go," I instruct.

Her eyes widen at what I just said as if she was struggling to comprehend what I just said and looked between me and Anna. I raise an eyebrow at her then she rushes off to do what I just said.

"Now you. You get the spittoons and empty the full ones in that bin on the table which then I will throw out. Leave the empty spittoons alone and leave them where they are. After you're done with that then you can go help Eden outside with the clothes," I order.

Anna opens her mouth to protest but I give her a icy warning glare which causes her to shut her mouth quickly and huffs childishly and stomps off.

I comb my fingers through my hair stressfully, I rub my forehead with my fingers and let out a big sigh to calm myself down.

Anna comes down with two large spittoons in her hands as she struggles to walk and keep balance with the heave spittoons in her hands. She empties them into the large bin that's sitting on the table.

"Now go help Eden," I demand.

She scoffs. "After you're done washing some clothes, hang them on the clothing line that's connected to both of your windows."

She narrows her eyes at me annoyed as I give her look asking her to question me and give me more attitude and to see where she ends up.

I roll my eyes at her attitude and grab the large bin that's sitting on the table. I'm really about to burst a blood vessel with these girls, especially Anna. I open the door and throw the remains that were in the bin without thinking and the sound of a neigh catches my attention causing me to look up.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there," I get flustered.

"You're that barmaid...Irene?" He asks.

"Yup, that's me...What's this beauties name?" I question as I stare at the pure white horse next to him, the reigns in Thomas's hand.

"He doesn't have a name," he answers.

"A good looking lad like that deserves a name," I shake my head in mock disappointment.

A sound of giggling could be heard from right above us causing both of us to snap our heads towards it, we see my two sisters starring at us and giggling. I give a small warning glare causing them to shut up and quickly get away from the windows.

"Sorry...siblings," I shrug.

"I know what you mean..." he trails.

"Oh, right. You have siblings, my sisters told me about your sister Ada and I found out about your brothers from people talking," I nod.

"Is there something you wanna ask me or...?" he asks out of the blue.

"I don't..." I start then something pops into my head, how the other night he said we weren't allowed to sing and Grace wasn't very happy about that and how Harry was to afraid to ask so I decide to speak up. "The other night you came into the pub and me and my friend were singing...you said singing wasn't allowed. I'd like there to be one night a week when there's singing."

"I think it would good for everyone...Saturday nights. Harry and Grace were too afraid to ask you, so..." I continue.

"But you're not," Thomas assumes.

"No, I'm not. I love to sing and I would do anything to be able to sing at least one night also Grace loves to sing and she's a close friend, plus Harry needs more money for business," I correct.

"You sound like one of those rich girls who comes over from Dublin for the races. Do you like horses?" He asks.

"Yes," I answer slightly confused and giving the white horse a small rub on his neck.

"Well, how do you fancy earning some extra money?"

"Doing what?" I question intrigued.

"Dig out a nice dress. I want to take you to the races," he responds getting on top of his horse and riding off. I watch as he rides off on top of the white stallion, looking somewhat like a knight.
