Lonely Horizon

Hello guys! Okay this is not the first time I am writing a fanfic but I would appreciate your feedback! So tell me what you think about it. This is the prologue of "Lonely Horizon" with about 1.6K words ;) - Tabea

Prologue:

The airport was full of people. Some were running around and screaming at their children or partners. Some seemed to be in a rush for their flight to some business meeting. Between all those people were two that were not in a hurry and waiting for their friends.

Niall was glad no one noticed and recognized him yet. He had a beanie over his blonde hair and big sunglasses on. He was very impatient to have some holidays with his lads and friends. “We are here first. I knew it! They always tell me I am late and lazy but now we are first at the airport and have to wait for those lazy asses.”, he told his best friend Kaitlyn. The girl with shoulder long blonde hair and blue eyes looked at him. "Nialler don't be that impatient! They will arrive soon enough!", she tried to calm Niall a bit and watched the entrance carefully. Niall and Kaitlyn were friends since high school. The two had kept their friendship even though Niall had so much success with "One Direction".

Now they were sitting next to each other at the airport and waited for the rest of the traveling party. Four weeks of pure vacation with the rest of "One Direction" and their friends. Goal was the Caribbean. After about ten minutes Kaitlyn finally discovered a familiar face in the crowd. Hidden behind sunglasses but still recognizable, Zayn was in the middle of the terminal. Kaitlyn waved at him and grinned.

Zayn also was not alone. At his hand, he led Keisha, his girlfriend. Kaitlyn had seen the brown-haired beautiful girl several times. The sometimes excited girl had been for Zayn's girlfriend for a long time now and grew good friends with Kaitlyn. When the two had noticed them they sauntered over to them. "Hey buddy.", greeted Zayn Niall and hugged him before he gave Kaitlyn a gentle kiss on the cheek. The two girls hugged each other intimately and immediately began to gossip a little. It was going to be great fun, Keisha already knew that. She was looking forward to this holiday for half a year now.

Zayn looked around again and sighed loudly. "I guess you have not seen the rest yet?", he asked with a grin. Niall shook his head and muttered: "No, I hope they arrive soon because I have no desire to rush!" Zayn nodded a little and ran a hand through his hair. He hadn't really styled it today. Why should he? He was on his way to a holiday and it wasn't important to look great. The cases were all given up since yesterday and today the group of friends only had to check in. Keisha snuggled a little into Zayn's side and he kissed her on the forehead. Meanwhile Kaitlyn had taken a seat on Niall's lap. The two didn't really care about things like that and what it looked like.

After a few more minutes they saw Louis approaching them. By his side there was Vanessa. The two of them were inseparable. The two arrived at the small group and greeted them friendly. Vanessa didn't know Keisha and Kaitlyn yet so they had to get to know each other a little. Kaitlyn and Vanessa quickly realized that they both hated loud noises and it led to a funny conversation about Niall.

Louis looked at his best friends and then around a bit. "Harry really wanted to be there earlier than me. He said he would have to pick someone up but wanted to come then!", Louis said, a little worried. The relationship between the two was very close and everyone noticed. Vanessa had no problems with that because she understood exactly why the two needed each other so much. "Did you talk to him today?", she asked softly and Louis shook his head. "No. What if anything happened to him?", he was concerned.

„No need to freak out Lou!“, they all heard a low voice behind them. There standing was Harry, grinning wide. Harry laughed as he saw Louis who raised an eyebrow. "You're late!", grumbled the oldest. Harry nodded a little before he hugged Louis. "Yes I know, not as late as Liam though.", he said as he looked around. "Yes, but Liam has sent me a message. He and his girlfriend come a little later. He had to fix something with his dad.", said Niall. Harry looked at Vanessa and pulled her into his arms. "Hey girl, how are you? Hard time watching over Louis?", he asked quietly. Vanessa laughed out loud and nodded. "Well he behaves.", she said with a wink. Harry nodded and took out his cell phone. "My friend should be there soon.", he muttered more to himself. His friend was busy sometimes so they decided to drive here separated.

They fell into a small talk about the Caribbean and the flight and were already having great fun. Niall annoyed Kaitlyn a little bit but she fought back, of course. You could tell easily that the two had a good dynamic. Louis and Vanessa had the whole time eyes for each other only. They kissed constantly. Zayn had Keisha on his lap and stroked her back gently.

Then Liam and Maxine arrived. The two were fooling around and looked like couple and best friends all in one. The dark haired girl held Liams hand who kissed her gently. "Hey guys! Sorry we're late. Are you getting excited? The first holiday we will have without any appointments!", exclaimed Liam, grinning at his friends. Zayn nodded. "Oh yes! That is great. Just four weeks lying around lazily in the sun, our fans do not know where it's going and the management has promised to not contact us! Freedom," he screamed, almost jubilant.

Freedom was something the boys clearly had not enough. And their friends knew that. Because when you were in "One Direction" then you had to constantly give interviews and book signings. These four weeks were almost the only long break the boys would have this year...and they would celebrate it.

Harry's phone buzzed and he took the call. “Hey Mona! Where are you? Alright! Yeah we are directly under that blue sign in front of the check-in. Okay. See ya.”, you could hear him. “Mona is coming?”, Niall asked smiling and Harry nodded. “She'll be here in five.”, he answered. “Yeah we got some more time until we need to be on board so we don't need to rush!”, Liam stated and Zayn kissed Keisha once more. “We are going on a plane! Yay!”, he exclaimed and Keisha giggled because you didn't get to see Zayn that outgoing very often. Normally she was the one who liked to joke around.

After a good 10 minutes a girl with long dark hair and extremly dark eyes came up to them and greeted them. “Hey Mona!”, Louis greeted her and hugged her before Harry lay an arm around her shoulders and finally the group was complete. Liam stood up from the bench he was sitting on with Maxine and nodded. “Okay so let's check-in.”, he directed and they all ten together went to the counter and registered with their tickets.

After that they had to get through the security. When Harry went through the metal detector it suddenly peeped. “Excuse me , Sir. Please come to me.”, a security officer called him. Harry was a bit confused but went to the officer which searched him and found the reason for the peeping. It was Harry's belt. So he had to take it off and went through the detector again. Everything was fine now so they got onto the plane. They had their seats at the back directly at the last door. They didn't want to fly in business class because the risk to get noticed was to high when you were expected to fly business.

When the plane finally took off, everyone was relieved. They were on their way! Nothing could stop them now. Even Management couldn't do anything to get them back on the ground.

Niall was talking with Kaitlyn about the food they would get and that he couldn't sleep in those seats and Kaitlyn managed to calm him again. Zayn was looking at Keisha the whole time. The two of them had some problems the last days because they were fighting some times but now it was alright for the moment. When you looked at Louis and Vanessa you couldn't think of such things as they were so deep in love and happy all the time you see them. But under the surface there were little arguments here and there too. Like in every relationship. Maxine and Liam were the one couple that just couldn't argue. Whenever the situation got kind of critical both would just give in in fear to hurt the other one. They were both way to sensible to fight. Harry took a nap because he was so tired he couldn't resist it and meanwhile Mona joined the conversation Niall and Kaitlyn were having.

Halfway through the flight, a jolt went through the aircraft. So strong that even Harry woke up. "We ask the passengers to strap yourself. Flight attendants please occupy the seats near the doors. Please remain calm." Came an announcement and the seat belt sign lit up. Louis was already nervous. He didn't like that at all. "If the flight attendants have already to buckle up, this is not good at all!", he muttered uncertainly. Another jolt went through the plane and then the front part tilted down drastically at once...
