Chapter 2:

Something warm sloshes against the face.

Pain in all parts of the body.

It is so cold.

Some undefinable sounds in the background.

Something sticky in the face.

Liam did not open his eyes. He never expected death to be that way. He knew that he would not like to see what was surrounding him. Slowly he lifted his eyelids though. Confused, he frowned. One side of the world was blue, the other brown. He wouldn't have expected that. White light, black tightness, however not that after death it was all blue and brown. He closed his eyes again. Suddenly he felt something on his leg. Something pressed against it, and every now and then let off again.

Liam opened his eyes and looked down at himself. Then all of a sudden adrenaline rushed through his body. He was not dead! And the world was not blue and brown after death! He lay on sand ...! He sat up, his hip ached unbelievable. He discovered that his legs were half in the water. Against his left foot repeatedly slapped a piece of cloth. Slowly it dawned on Liam.

The aircraft. The sea. Maxine! Liam's eyes widened. He looked around immediately, panic rising. On the water was wreckage everywhere. Suitcase floating around. Seats were washed up on the beach.

Liam then saw it. Distributed over the whole beach were not only boxes...there were also people. He ignored his waist and jumped up. He sprinted across the sand. If they had let him run at the Olympics right now...he would've won. When he reached the first person who was in the sand he recognized Niall. The boy didn't look good. His face had a cut on one cheek and his cheekbones were blue. "Niall!", Liam screamed and fell in the sand beside him.

Niall moaned softly as Liam pinched and shook him. He opened his eyes and watched Liam. "Liam...you." He whispered. Tears welled up in his eyes. "Nialler...", Liam muttered, pulling him close to his chest. "Ouch.", Niall squealed as Liam accidently hit a sore spot at his back. "Shut up! You are alive. Don't complain.", Liam whispered but you could hear that he was just so happy to see Niall alive.

After some time Liam let go of Niall. "What happened to us Li?", Niall said softly. Liam shook his head. "I have no idea. Apparently...we crashed. And now we are...on some island or sandbar. I had no time to have a look around.", he said honestly. "Come with me. We need to find the others. Hope they are alive!", Liam whispered uncertainly and Niall nodded. He stood up and shook the sand of himself.

Both ran hastily over the beach. A little further away were sitting three people. When they saw Niall and Liam they screamed: "Niall! Liam!" They were crying. There sitting on the sand were Kaitlyn, Maxine and Mona. The three girls had just found each other. They had been washed up together on a piece of wall.

Kaitlyn jumped up from the ground and ran to Niall. He wrapped both arms around her and hugged her tightly. Kaitlyn had some scrapes and seemed to have a bruised foot but that did not matter. Niall lived and the two were just about to kiss because of their joy but then decided that that wouldn't be a good idea.

Liam ran to Maxine who was still dizzy. "Hey...honey.", he whispered. Maxine smiled slightly and sighed. "Hey.", she murmured and then Liam bent down to her. He kissed her with love and care and caressed her a little on the cheek before he began to do some first aid.

Kaitlyn looked at the others. "Have you...have you seen the boys and girls?" She asked, it was easy to notice the anxiety and worry in her voice. "No...", Liam muttered. He looked out over the sea. "I...I hope they are still alive.", he whispered and looked down. Five were together. Five were still missing.
