Chapter 3
(Skylar's POV)
Cole, Cole, and Cole was all I was thinking about. He would be picking me up in about four hours and I obviously started to get ready.
I took a long, hot shower and then curled my hair into perfect big curls for an hour trying to perfect them as much as possible. I put on my outfit that I recently bought to impress Cole, and for the party. Just as I was ready to apply my makeup, I get a text from Cole.
Cole:
Hey Sky, sorry but I can't pick you up tonight, I got lots of school work to catch up on.
Skylar:
It's alright, I'll just find another ride.
Cole:
I already got that covered. Drew's taking you
Skylar:
Oh ok that's perfect. Thanks Cole.
It was nowhere near perfect. Drew has always had a thing for me, and now I have to be alone in a car with him? Let's hope he bails on me too.
(Cole's POV)
Bailing on her was terrible. I hated the idea that my brother would have to take her. I didn't want to bail on her completely, so I asked Drew to take her.
I've always liked her but I guess I was just too scared to tell her, knowing it might ruin our friendship. I was planning on telling her today but my math teacher has me do all these assignments which took my chances downhill. I would never do it over text so I had no choice but to wait until next time.
(Skylar's POV)
It was seven 'o' clock and Drew wasn't here yet. 7:20 was when he finally showed up. He got out of the car to open the door for me. I went into the car. Drew came into the car with a smirk saying," Wow, looking hot, Sky." I just smiled but inside i wanted to get out of the car and run. I had no choice so I sat in Drew's car while he seductively stared me down by the corner of his eye. Could this night possibly get worse?
(Drew's POV)
She looked beyond beautiful and I couldn't help but stare at her the whole car ride. I couldn't believe Cole saw her as "just a friend". Was he blind or something? But either way, I wasn't going to let him have her, she was going to be mine.
(Skylar's POV)
The car ride was weird and quiet until he started asking questions, like I needed that right now.
"So, you and Brook friends?" He awkwardly asked.
"Yeah, since the 4th grade." I replied.
"How's freshman year been?"
"It could be better, I guess." I wanted him to stop talking and just focus on driving.
"How would it become better?"
I gave him a small shrug but I knew he wasn't done yet. This car ride seemed to take forever and I thought it would never end.
"So, you lookin' for a boyfriend yet?"
This question was really uncomfortable and it really wasn't any of his business, but I didn't want to leave a bad impression on Cole. Hr better be interested in me after this night. I answered with another shrug and I think he got the hint to stop questioning me. I avoided any eye contact and just stared out of the window until we finally got to Brook's house.
