Waking up in Los Angeles felt different.

It seems like every country I visit has their own kind of busy. Rushing cars, city ambiance, small shouts every once and again from passerby's or people in the hotel hallway. It's nice to know everyone has something going on with their life. They seem all figured out which in my case didn't help my anxiety one bit.

Great... I slept through four of my alarms...

No wonder I felt well rested, yet having a heavy feeling over my eyes. I practically slept though breakfast and lunch.

lunch....

Shit! I forgot about lunch!

As I grabbed my phone, it gladly reminded me of my missed alarms and missed notifications.

wanna meet here?

As I parked my car I sat in my seat for awhile. Playing scenarios in my head of every possible little thing that could go wrong.

Ugh. Damn it [y/n] you are going to have fun. He's a nice guy, and you're not going to let some tiny anxiety shit on your day.

As I stepped out the vehicle, and headed into the restaurant, got a table for two and waited a bit for him to arrive.

Then there he was.

Walking into the building in a plain white tee and some fashionably worn out pants. His dark sunglasses really put the look together.

My heart was practically beating out of my chest as I waved and smiled, letting him know I was there. He seemed so calm and welcoming with his smile in return.

"Hey!" Matt sunk into the booth across from mine. "You look great."

"Oh thanks." His compliment had me looking down at my attire. Did I dress too casual? Or too formal? Damn him for finding a good mix of both. "You look good too."

"How has LA been? Good to you I hope. You look fucking exhausted." He snickered at his comment.

"Wow thanks," my eyes rolled. "It's not like anything I'm not used to."

A waitress came around, and asked for our drink order. To our surprise we accidentally tried to order at the same time. Interrupting each other before he just went first. We both got water anyway. The lady nodded and went on her way.

I giggled at the incident. "Charming."

"So you think I'm charming?" His little half smile crept up on his face.

The waitress dropped off our drinks in a swift and quick fashion.

I grabbed the straw and unwrapped it from its paper sleeve. "You know what I should've just kept the headphones so I wouldn't have to hear you talk right now." Rolling the paper into a ball I flicking it in his direction. He pretended to be offended.

Matt crossed his arms on the table and smiled again, man was his smirk cute. "Hey you agreed to come with me tonight. You obviously feel something about me."

I scoffed and stirred the ice around in the glass. "Oh please don't flatter yourself," I looked at him directly in his blue eyes. "Consider it charity work."

We both laughed, we couldn't hold in the serious tone we had going on.

The night was filled laughter and calm moments. He talked about his work, his pet, what's been going on in his life. It seemed exciting and something I wanted to be apart of.

It was hard discussing about my life, since I didn't really take charge in what I was doing until recently. I talked about how I just kind of floated my away across the world.

He made me feel like i was wasting my life on something that didn't make me happy. Cause it didn't. He seemed very happy in what he was doing, passionate, even. His overall mindset was inspiring.

After our meal we talked outside for a moment. The city lights and bustling noise matches with a cool breeze felt like a nice refresher.

"You know [y/n] this was actually really fun." He looked at me with a sincere look. Jokes aside from the whole night, he took a moment to appreciate me for coming.

"I had a fun time too.." we exchanged a long glance at each other. Just taking in each other's features. It made my heart beat fast and my body felt a quick adrenaline rush.

"You should come over tomorrow, that's if you're free." His question broke the silence between us. He drifted his eyes to the ground as if he was nervous for rejection.

"Of course," I replied with smile.

He looked at me with one too.

He walked be back to my car and he gave me a soft hug. His embrace was gentle as if he thought he was going to break me. That matched with his cologne made me wish I could hold onto a little longer.

Then we said our good nights.
