After their last class, Mashiho walked to his locker and stored his books that he didn't need.
He's been thinking about it for a while ever since he heard what Junkyu told him. He didn't know if he was just really nice, or had some evil plan or something that will cause trouble.
Half of him wanted to just give up and actually talk to him, but another half kept telling him not to. It's hard to trust people you don't know.
Unfortunately for him, he didn't even know anybody at school.
He closed his locker and started to walk towards the gate, but he was stopped in his tracks as soon as he heard his name being called.
"Mashiho! Wait up!"
He looked behind to see Junkyu jogging towards him, with his backpack flailing behind his back as he ran.
Mashiho sighed. He wasn't in the mood to be awkward and shy right now. He just wanted to be alone and go home.
Junkyu stopped in front of him, panting heavily as he rested his palms on his knees.
Looking up at the shorter boy, his signature, bright smile was returned on his face.
"You wanna go walk home together?"
Mashiho looked down, he didn't want to someone to walk home with him.
"Walking home is my only time to be alone. In peace and silence."
"S-so.... I guess it's a soft no?" Mashiho said, still looking at both of their feet.
"You ain't fooling anyone here, you're always alone, what are you talking about?" Junkyu smirked.
Mashiho wanted to feel offended, but it was true. Who was he kidding?
"A soft burn perhaps?"
Mashiho couldn't say anything. "Is this guy being serious right now? Does he think this is funny?"
Before Mashiho could even walk away, he was pulled into Junkyu arms.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Sorry" Junkyu said as he giggled with Mashiho in his arms.
Mashiho was left flustered.
"What the hell was that about?"
It took him about 10 more seconds before he even realized that Junkyu was hugging him. Panicking, he took his left hand and used it to softly push Junkyu off of him.
"This guy gives good hugs, I kind of liked that."
"Wait what? No I didn't!"
Once Junkyu was at a safe distance from him again and Mashiho was done spacing out, he sighed in defeat. This guy was really getting on his nerves, but at the back of his mind, he kind of liked him.
"So, what do you say? Can we walk home together?"
And with that, Mashiho was spacing out again.
"He's a good guy I guess?"
"Nope. Not risking it. He might kill me before I get home."
His thoughts were the complete opposite of what came out of his mouth.
"o-okay. I guess."
Junkyu won. For the second time today.
