Chapter 4

There was silence all around her as she awkwardly stood up. She turned around scanning everyones faces, some were of shock, some surprise and some confusion. The two faces that scared her the most were Sebastian's and Karter's. Sebastian looked as if he were to explode from the questions building up inside of him. And Karter, oh Karter's face was as red as a tomato.

She had to get out of there, and fast. She couldn't answer and of their questions, not because she didn't want to, but she didn't know how. Her mind was a blur, and she did the only thing she could. Run.

She ran straight out of class. Away from the bothering  faces and and angry teacher, away from the questions. Trying to run away from her problems, but her legs could only take her so far.

Eventually she end up on the sand edge of the lake, it was late afternoon by now the sun starting to set. Her heart and head was pumping, as she caught her breath, slowly lowering her self on the sand. She sat there for a while, mind empty. Soon it got cold and she wrapped her arms around her knees, breathing in the cool evening air.

A soft piece of material touched her shoulders suddenly, snapping her out of her dase. Quickly looking up she saw Kaiden attempting to place a blanket over her shoulders, only then had she noticed that she was shivering from the cold evening breeze. She accepted the blanket, and he slid down next to her. "Thanks.." Alex whispers. "Everyone's been looking for you, ...after you ran off we thought we should give you sometime but it started to get dark and you still hadn't got back and we were getting worried." "I just needed some time to think."  Surprisingly Kaiden didn't question her further on what happened earlier where she practically revealed her secret to the world, but he sat there quietly next to her watching the moons reflection glisten on the lakes surface.

She really appreciated that Kaiden didn't pressure her to answer his questions (even thought she knew he had many) and she knew half of them she wouldn't have an answer to. For some reason sitting there with him made her feel safe and comforted even though he wasn't doing anything than just sitting with her.

Soon though they both knew they were pushing the curfew and Kaiden lead her back into the dorm building to her room, and after a goodnight was said he was gone as if he had never been with her to beginning with. The only evidence of him being there was his fluffy, grey, woolen blanket still draped across her shoulders.
