There was a flash of light and the Lions appeared floating in space. All was silent for a moment before Shiro spoke.
"Paladins, come in."
The quiet static of the comms filled the tense atmosphere. Nothing. "Paladins of Voltron, this is the Atlas. Come in."
His voice was beginning to take on an edge of urgency. Then Keith's voice crackled to life. "We did it."
The deck of the Atlas erupted into cheers. No one heard the emptiness in his voice. No one heard the quiet words that followed. Words honoring a sacrifice that saved so much more than just their universe, a sacrifice that would never be forgotten.
"She did it."
