"Mum... since you've been fostering me for so long, surely you have enough money to send me to school!" I yell at my mother from my bedroom. I expect her to shout back an answer but instead she walks through my door. She sits down at the end of my bed, next to me.
"Listen, Sweety. I've been thinking lately and I think I want to adopt you instead of just fostering you. And you're right, I do have enough money... I keep it safe and away to make sure no one can get to it. All these years I've saved it up to give to you and to make sure you have enough money to buy a house and pay for food when you move out. I'm sorry, Sweety..." Mum explains. "I've also decided to send you to school for this school year. I have gotten you a uniform, stationary and a school to go to. I hope you like it." She got up and leaves. I am so happy. I don't know what to do, so I sit there and I start crying. Tears are streaming down my face as I get up and walk to my wardrobe and open it. Right at the front, my uniform for Straff Secondary College is right there. I am so excited that I decide to jump up and down screaming with joy. I can't wait to go to school in a month!!
"Dinner's ready!!" Mum shouts from the kitchen counter.
"Coming!!" I scream. I rush out of my room and run to the kitchen.

"THANK YOU SO MUCH!!" I yell, hugging my mother as tightly as I can.
"Honey, I'm holding dinner. Let go before I drop them... please?" Mum asks. I apologise and we walk over to the table. I start talking about school and can't stop. I won't stop. What if I can't make friends? What if I get bullied? What if they don't accept me? What if I'm not at their level of learning? What if's keep rolling through my head as I eat dinner. They keep going and going as I brush my teeth and getting ready for bed.
'What if they won't take me in and I'm all alone forever...?' My last thought comes before I sleep. Darkness. It's there for hours, hours and hours. I can't dream...
