~Savannah~

I'm out on my porch looking at the ocean again. It's been calling to me more. Or I guess it's God speaking to me through His beautiful creation.

It's hard, having faith and yet being faced every day by the physical condition I'm in, not seeing an ounce of healing. Or at least, the healing I imagine.

Rose and Oak play around beside me and I take in the salty air.

It's Friday and the waves are calm. Perfect weather to go walking. That is, if I could walk.

"Would you like to go out on the beach?"

I turn to see Gail smiling at me from the doorway.

"I'd love to."

She takes care of pushing me to the boardwalk and Rose and Oak go ahead.

"How's school? You're home early." I say with a smile.

She shrugs. "It's as usual. Busy. I'm home because I know you need someone to be with you. It's Friday anyway, and so I have more time off."

"Okay. If there's anything I can help with, just tell me." I say.

She smiles. "I know."

She pushes me to the platform and sits on a log. "Do you wanna go out to the water now?"

"Gail. You can't carry me." I say with a laugh.

She shrugs. "You never know." She studies me. "But then to be safe, let's just sit here."

We talk and talk until the sun starts setting.

"I miss life being this calm." Gail says softly.

I smile gleefully. "This is my life. Walking along the beach in the morning and now afternoon, few lessons, naps here and there, and doing hobbies I love."

Gail glares at me playfully. "Oh, be quiet. Don't rub it in."

I laugh and she joins me.

"Well, your life is pretty exciting. You're so blessed to be so skilled and talented to be in so many organizations and doing so many things." I say encouragingly.

She nods. "Thank you. I know. I'm grateful, just tired."

"Aren't we all at one point?"

We look back at the water and hear clicking sounds.

Gail looks at me and share a concerned look.

"I'll be right back." She says, taking off towards the water.

I watch her and make sure no one surprises us.

"Oak, follow her." I command.

Oak runs after Gail and Rose and I stay on the lookout.

Gail reaches the water and wades deeper. She doesn't need to swim because I see what caught her attention. A dorsal fin shows and squeaks reach my ears.

I look around for Gail's phone knowing she must've left it here.

"Rose. Get Gail's phone on that log please." I say.

Rose obeys and hands me the phone. I call my mom.

"Hello?"

"Mom?"

"Oh, Sav. What's wrong?"

"Gail's out with a dolphin. I think we need to call for help."

I can hear Mom's gasp over the phone. "I'll call them right away."
