Gender

Pink and blue,
Sports and glitter,
Each direction making you thinner.
Being the perfect little doll,
Playing a part you don't recall.
What's the point of trying to belong
If you aren't happy until you fall?
Emotions and interests kept locked in your shell,
Hoping that no one can tell
You are different, you're a freak
Who cares if you are unique.
Just play the role that you are assigned
And everything will work out fine.
But what if you don't want to fit in
If it means being uncomfortable in your own skin.
Break free of the normal regulations
And be what you define as perfection.
Don't just follow and do as your told.
Raise your voice, strong and bold.
So what if you don't fit into the gender stereotype?
You are who you are, and nothing should feel more right.
